Changsha Evening News, Changsha, January 11 (Reporter Huang Neng) On January 13, Hunan artist Zou Jianping's latest solo exhibition "Divine Clay" will be held in Thailand and unveiled at Tang Contemporary Art Center in Bangkok. The exhibition presents more than 20 paintings created by the artist in recent years.
Zou Jianping was born in Hunan in 1955, is the honorary chairman of the Hunan Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, and an art consultant of the Yungang Research Institute. His works have been exhibited in the Chinese Modern Art Exhibition, the Asian International Art Exhibition, the Shenzhen International Ink Painting Biennale, etc., and have been exhibited in the United States, South Korea, Japan and other places.
According to Yuan Tingxuan, the curator of this exhibition, Zou Jianping is an important promoter and artist in the development of modern and contemporary Chinese art, who has been engaged in art work for nearly 46 years, and is an artist who integrates publishing and creation, cross-border and compounding. However, his case studies seem to have been neglected compared to his contemporaries, and this exhibition is held in order to showcase and affirm his later art.
It is reported that after the age of 60, Zou Jianping traveled from Changsha to Maijishan all the way to the west, and he transferred his studio to Yungang Grottoes, Longmen Grottoes, Maijishan, Dunhuang, and Qiuci, which have historical traditions, trying to find the code of Eastern and Western civilizations in the dusty soil. From the city to the desert and from the wilderness to life, Zou Jianping seeks the intersection of Eastern and Western civilizations, integrates the culture of the Western Regions and the desert sediment into his creations, and constructs a world full of mystery and sacredness through a unique artistic language and expression. The more than 20 works on display in this exhibition not only show Zou Jianping's unique artistic style, but also deeply reflect his thinking and exploration in the integration of Eastern and Western cultures, and show his contemplation through the desert journey.
