A ** of two men holding "Gatling" fireworks towards Weiyuan Building attracted attention.
On February 27, local officials responded to the matter. According to the official WeChat news of "Look at Longxi", on the evening of February 24, Guan and Chen came to Weiyuanlou Square in Longxi County, Gansu Province after drinking. During this period, the two of them each held a "Gatling" firework and set off it towards Weiyuan Tower. It is understood that Weiyuan Building is a national key cultural relics protection unit, and the behavior of the two people endangered the safety of cultural relics, and the Longxi County Public Security Bureau imposed administrative detention and fines on the two in accordance with the law.
China's "Cultural Relics Protection" clearly stipulates that all organs, organizations and individuals have the obligation to protect cultural relics in accordance with the law. The "Regulations on the Safety Management of Fireworks and Firecrackers" requires that "fireworks are prohibited in cultural relics protection units", and the "Administrative Measures for the Discharge of Fireworks and Firecrackers in Urban Areas" issued by Longxi County in 2022 also has the above provisions.
In this incident, the two men involved got carried away after drinking, holding "Gatling" fireworks with a certain destructive power and shooting at Weiyuan Tower. Regardless of the purpose of the act, it is clear that the act has violated the relevant laws and regulations. Therefore, the administrative detention of the two men in accordance with the law is not only a punishment for those who do not abide by the rules, but also a reaffirmation and maintenance of the existing rules.
Judging from the **, the two men's practices can't help but make people pinch a cold sweat. Setting off fireworks at a cultural relics protection unit after drinking is simply willful. Of course, while condemning the misconduct of the two men involved, we must also ask: Why is there such a thrilling and vicious incident around such a national key cultural relics protection unit like Weiyuan Tower? When you think about it, you can't help but be afraid.
According to reports, Weiyuan Tower is a three-story wooden brick building with a height of 26 meters, and such a heritage building should be better in terms of daily fire prevention. Especially on days like the Lantern Festival, in addition to the normalized fire prevention inspections, we should consciously strengthen safety management and early warning work.
The director of the Longxi County Museum told ** that the incident happened at about 11:50 on the night of the Lantern Festival, and the staff on duty patrolled home from work.
But what if Weiyuan Building really caught fire? In addition to the responsibility of the two men involved, the main unit responsible for the protection of cultural relics may not escape the accusation of management failure. Fortunately, in this incident, Weiyuan Building was not damaged. Now, although the two men have paid the due price for their actions, the warning value of this should obviously not be ignored by the cultural preservation unit.
During this Spring Festival holiday, many places have adjusted their fireworks and firecrackers policies. However, the premise of all this must be based on security and rationality.
From this point of view, the punishment of the dangerous behavior of the two men after drinking in Longxi is not only an emphasis on the importance of cultural relics protection, but also a reminder and warning to the firecrackers and management agencies: this illegal act of holding "Gatling" fireworks towards cultural relics regardless of the occasion can not happen again; There is also an urgent need to strengthen the safety management of key cultural relics protected units throughout the country.
