A poetic story that spans 1,200 kilometers from the east to the southwest. During this winter vacation, six students from Nanjing University went deep into Xiushan County, Chongqing City, and sowed the seeds of poetry in the hearts of children in the mountains.
From January 23rd to February 1st, Nanjing University's public welfare poetry teaching activity "Changxiang Poems" was launched in Xiushan County, Chongqing. During the 10-day volunteer teaching activity, NTU students combined their own interests and hobbies, gave full play to their personal strengths, and integrated poetry, Chinese studies, collage, and children's poetry creation, and sent quality development courses to the children. Yao Xingyu, a member of the volunteer teaching team, said: "Our poetry selection is divided into two parts: classical poetry and modern poetry. This volunteer teaching activity was voluntarily initiated by poetry lovers of Nanjing University. The activity was supported by the Xiushan County Committee of the Communist Youth League and the help of the Nanjing University Singing Poetry Society and Linxia Poetry Society, and the young poets Li Haipeng and Liu Chi of the School of Literature of Nanjing University served as instructors. When the children have no clue about creative expression, the students of Nanjing University patiently inspire them to start from the beautiful writing around them; When the children are struggling with the choice of words and word order, the students encourage them to do what they want, and there is no right or wrong in the world of poetry.
We spend 10 days not to train poets or teach languages, but to sow the seeds of poetry and love for life.
