On February 26, Anhui Provincial Quantum Information Engineering Technology Research Center and Kedao Shield Quantum Technology Co., Ltd. jointly released the news that the domestic dilution refrigerator EZ-Q Fridge completed the performance test, and the results showed that the actual operation index of the equipment reached the international mainstream level of similar products, becoming the first domestic commercial and mass-produced superconducting quantum computer dilution refrigerator.
The dilution refrigerator is a key core equipment for building superconducting quantum computers, which can provide an ultra-low temperature environment close to absolute zero for superconducting quantum computing chips, and its market has been firmly occupied by international manufacturers such as Finland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and exports to China are restricted.
In order to solve this "stuck neck" problem, a joint team composed of the University of Science and Technology of China and the University of Science and Technology Shield Quantum, the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Electronics Technology, and China Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. are actively tackling key problems. However, at present, domestic dilution refrigerators that can be mass-produced and put into use are still scarce, and most of them are still in the laboratory stage.
In the second half of 2023, Keda Shield Quantum delivered domestic dilution refrigerator products to two scientific research units. After many months of testing by customers, the equipment has been running continuously and stably for a long time, and can be combined with active shock absorption system and magnetic shielding to provide an extremely low temperature and low noise environment of as low as 10MK for quantum chips, and the refrigeration power can reach 450uw@100mk. In the superconducting quantum computing cryogenic support system accommodating 78 low-temperature measurement and control coaxial cables, the 56-bit and 24-bit superconducting quantum chips were tested respectively, and the dilution refrigerator operated well and reached the international advanced level.

The effect of the operation of the chip determines the capabilities of the entire quantum computer, so the performance of the dilution chiller is crucial. According to Wang Zhehui, deputy director of the Anhui Provincial Quantum Information Engineering Technology Research Center and head of quantum computing at the National Shield of Science and Technology, the same quantum computing chip has the same ability, measurement indicators and international product effects under the dilution refrigerator.
As the only enterprise participating in the superiority experiment of "Zu Chongzhi No. 2" superconducting quantum computing, through independent research and development and authorized support of the University of Science and Technology of China, it has completed the transformation of the achievement of dilution refrigerator technology, built a leading domestic production line, and realized the mass production of products. In addition to advanced technical indicators, EZ-Q Fridge can also provide a larger working space than similar machines, and users can install more quantum computing chips to meet the needs of scientific research in various aspects.
Wang Zhehui said that in the next step, the company will work with more universities and research institutes to carry out the research and development of quantum computing software and hardware, and jointly promote the development of the domestic quantum computing industry chain and cutting-edge scientific and technological breakthroughs.
