On February 1, local time, two members of animal protection organizations poured paint on a "lion fountain" in the center of Rome, Italy, as a circus animal performance.

On the same day, the "Lion Fountain" in Rome's Piazza del Popolo was splashed with red and yellow paint by members of animal protection groups, who wanted to urge Italy to introduce regulations to ban circus animals as soon as possible.

It is understood that more than 20 European countries have banned or severely restricted circus animal performances, but Italy is not one of them. Italy has previously drafted a bill on banning circus animal performances, but has not made substantial progress, the group said.

In recent years, paintings of celebrities in museums and art galleries across Europe, as well as landmark buildings in European countries, have been repeatedly vandalized by extreme "environmentalists". On the 28th of last month, the famous painting "Mona Lisa" on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris was splashed with canned soup by members of an environmental group.

Although these "environmentalists" claim to use washable and non-toxic paints or liquids, such actions have been condemned by many parties.
