Zhong Yuzheng: The legendary life of a female general In the People's Liberation Army, there is a group of professional and technical officers, who are committed to professional and technical work or management, including many industry elites, who are awarded military ranks, also known as professional and technical officers. Today, we are going to talk about a professional and technical female general of the People's Liberation Army - Zhong Yuzheng. She led the team to win the "Three World Firsts" and became a legend. Born in 1930 in Foshan, Guangdong, Chung Yuzheng was born in Hong Kong and grew up in a poor family.
Although his father was only a small trader, his family was poor, and he had many children in the family, Zhong Yuzheng's mother still did her best to educate her. Zhong Yuzheng cherished the opportunity to study, worked diligently, and was successfully admitted to Guangzhou Union Middle School, a key middle school in Guangdong Province. After graduating, she was admitted to the Department of Chemistry of Nanjing Jinling Women's College of Arts and Sciences, becoming one of the few outstanding students at that time. During her time at the school, she witnessed the birth of New China. When he first came to the anti-chemical warfare school as a teacher, Zhong Yuzheng did not have a strong interest in anti-chemical warfare science.
She recalls that at that time, facing a group of fighters with no cultural foundation, she even felt that her talents were wasted. Until one time, a soldier proposed to her: "Teacher Zhong, we don't understand your class." This sentence made Zhong Yuzheng pause: If even ordinary soldiers can't understand their own teachings, it's their own problem. As a result, she changed her teaching attitude, took root in the anti-chemical warfare school, and preached and taught generations of soldiers.
In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, when the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea broke out, in order to adapt to the new war situation, our army decided to select chemistry students from universities across the country and form a variety of military units. Zhong Yuzheng enlisted in the army and became the first batch of female anti-chemical warfare soldiers in our army. She was assigned to the People's Liberation Army Chemical Defense School as a teacher, and soon her superiors discovered her talent and sent her to the Department of Chemistry of Peking University for further study. In 1954, she returned to the Chemical Defense School (later renamed the Chemical Defense Command Engineering College of the General Staff), where she taught for 52 years.
After the implementation of the International Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, there is a global need for a universally recognized standard for chemical disarmament verification and comparative testing, that is, the "international joint test". In 1990, the Chinese delegation, led by Zhong Yuzheng, participated in this test. Although China was highly regarded at the time, it was surprising that the delegation led by Zhong Yuzheng won the first place, which was her third time participating in the "International Joint Examination" and achieving "three consecutive championships". This achievement has won the attention of the world.
Therefore, in 1992, Zhong Yuzheng was awarded the first-class merit by the ** Military Commission. Although Zhong Yuzheng has been engaged in teaching for a long time, her outstanding contributions in the field of professional technology have made her one of the few elites in the PLA. In July 1993, Zhong Yuzheng was awarded the rank of professional and technical major general, becoming a precious professional and technical female general in our army, and the only professional and technical female general still serving at that time. Now, Zhong Yuzheng, who is over 90 years old, has retired and is living a happy life.
Although she is retired, Zhong Yuzheng still cares about the development of the military, and she has worked tirelessly to teach students and spread knowledge on many occasions. Zhong Yuzheng's philosophy is simple, that is, to use limited time to disseminate unlimited knowledge, help young people grow up faster, and contribute to the country as soon as possible.
