Recently, we conducted an in-depth observation of the top 20 individual private hospitals in 2023. On the whole, these leading private hospitals are mainly concentrated in provinces and regions with strong economic strength, and the economic scale of these places has basically reached the trillion level. Surprisingly, however, the city of Shanghai did not appear on this list. Combined with the top 500 list, we found that there were 12 hospitals in Shanghai on the list, but only 1 in the top 100 (ranked 58th).
After analysis, we believe that this is mainly due to the fact that Shanghai has not established a comprehensive grading mechanism for private hospitals. At present, the private hospitals in Shanghai are basically in the stage of ungrading, and the number of first-class hospitals in Shanghai is relatively small. In addition, local public hospitals have shown strong competitiveness in the market and basically meet the local demand for high-end medical services, so the investment expectation of private hospitals in this field is relatively low.
We observed some leading private single hospitals and had an in-depth understanding of their service volume, leading disciplines, staff and bed allocation. According to annual budget estimates, these private hospitals are basically outside the 500 public hospitals in these aspects. However, on the whole, these private hospitals compete with public hospitals by providing high-end and differentiated services, which is in line with the planning and positioning of private hospitals.
1.Foshan Zen doctor.

The hospital covers an area of 170,000 square meters, with a construction area of 120,000 square meters, 1,805 open beds and 1,997 employees. 3.Zhejiang Xiaoshan Hospital.
Formerly known as Hangzhou Xiaoshan District Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Xiaoshan District Psychiatric Hospital, it took the lead in establishing the General Hospital of Zhejiang Xiaoshan Hospital Medical Community in March 2019, with three branches under its jurisdiction: Beigan Street, Ningwei Street and Yaqian Town in Xiaoshan District.
