During the eight years of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, countless revolutionary martyrs bravely sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country and the nation. And the cruelty of the Japanese to these revolutionary martyrs can be profoundly reflected from Xu Delan.

The Japanese invaders' treatment of revolutionary martyrs was inhumane, but Xu Delan, a revolutionary, did not flinch because of this. She bravely faced the various methods of the Japanese invaders, and made great contributions to the revolutionary cause with firm faith and selfless dedication.

Xu Delan was born in 1917 in a poor family in Shandong. The poor living environment made her deeply understand the pain of poverty and tempered her strong will.

Her compassion and understanding for people who are also living in hardship have made her always committed to helping them. Although her family was poor, her parents were open-minded and encouraged her to pursue an education and learn about the culture.

It was this education that exposed her to revolutionary ideas and was thus deeply influenced by them. At the age of 15, Xu Delan joined the revolution and participated in student demonstrations and propaganda work.

In order to disseminate revolutionary ideas, she even went into the countryside alone and carried out ideological work from house to house.

Xu Delan came into contact with the party organization during the student march and joined at the age of 18 under the influence of the organization. Since then, under the leadership of the Party organization, she has devoted herself to various propaganda and mobilization work.

At work, she met Lu Guanglian, a member of the party group, and under his influence, she strengthened her beliefs. The two fell in love and started a family. In 1938, under the arrangement of the organization, Lu Guanglian went to work in Zaozhuang, Shandong, to establish an underground intelligence network and mobilize the masses.

Xu Delan then went to Zaozhuang to work.

A new chapter in Xu Delan's life in Zaozhuang: happy to get a beloved son, double harvest at work. Not only was there a lot of happy events in life, but he also became her husband's intelligence messenger at work, actively distributing anti-Japanese leaflets, which spread widely, and even the office of Okamura, the captain of the Japanese military police, could not escape his hands.

Xu Delan's leaflets ignited the anti-Japanese passion of the nation, and at the same time aroused the hatred of the enemy. The appearance of the leaflet made Okamura angry and threatened to catch the maker behind the leaflet.

In the days that followed, the Japanese army mobilized a large number of police forces to hunt down underground party members everywhere. In December 1939, due to the betrayal of traitors, the Japanese army was able to know the identity of Lu Guanglian's underground party.

As a result, a large number of Japanese troops rushed to Lu Guanglian's residence. However, Lu Guanglian did not go home immediately after learning of the situation, but chose to avoid it, thus successfully escaping the catastrophe.

However, Xu Delan and her children suffered misfortune.

The Japanese invaders broke into the door and searched the house. When Lu Guanglian was not there, they took Xu Delan and her two-year-old son away. Xu Delan was imprisoned in a clammy dungeon. Although the Japanese invaders did not know anything about her membership as an underground party member, they knew that she was Lu Guanglian's wife, so they interrogated her.

They thought Xu Delan was just a rural woman, and they threatened her to confess at once. But Xu Delan was not afraid of the intimidation of the Japanese invaders. Seeing that Xu Delan refused to disclose the news, the Japanese decided to take strong measures and began to torture Xu Delan.

They beat her with a bamboo whip, and when her skin was open and her blood was bleeding, they poured salt into her wounds. The great pain made Xu Delan let out a scream.

In the face of the severe torture of the Japanese invaders, Xu Delan always adhered to the party's beliefs and was unyielding. Even in the pain of being burned with a soldering iron, locked in a tiger chair, and pierced into her fingers with a bamboo stick, she did not give up.

The Japanese tried again and again to get Xu Delan to succumb, but each time it was in vain. Xu Delan's strength and determination made the Japanese completely helpless. Although she was in a coma many times, every time she woke up, she continued to fight, never giving up on the party's beliefs.

Okamura saw that Xu Delan's body was as tough as steel, and decided to defeat her mentally. He grabbed Xu Delan's 2-year-old son in his hands, walked up to Xu Delan, and threatened: "If you don't confess, I will kill him!"

Okamura's threat made the child cry in fear, Xu Delan, as a mother, was very distressed to see her son crying so sadly, but she couldn't resist and could only reprimand Okamura angrily: "You are all robbers!

Although Gangcun threatened Xu Delan with her son, she remained resolute and unyielding. Okamura threw the child into the air and split it in half with his saber.

In a fit of rage, Gangmura brandished his saber and stabbed Xu Delan in the abdomen four times in a row, and then cut off her hands. Under the cruel torture of Gangcun, Xu Delan died heroically.

What is even more distressing is that four years later, her husband Lu Guanglian was also brutally murdered by the Japanese army. In order to obtain the bounty, the traitor cut off Lu Guanglian's head and hung it at the west gate of Zaozhuang City to show the public.

Xu Delan lost his son when he was only 22 years old, and he was taken away as soon as he tasted the sweetness of his mother's love. In the face of the torture of the enemy, Xu Delan always insisted on the secrecy of the organization, even if the enemy threatened her son, she did not waver.

This is the firm conviction of a loyal revolutionary.

Xu Delan showed the Japanese invaders the invincibility of the Chinese and the tenacity of the Chinese with his actions. Xu Delan is a hero of our country and the pride of our nation.

Her sacrifice was in exchange for our ultimate victory.
