690 megapascal low-temperature high-strength steel is a special high-end new material, with ultra-high strength, excellent low-temperature toughness, low-temperature cracking resistance and other characteristics, mainly used for the construction of liquefied carbon dioxide carrier liquid cargo tank, is an out-and-out high-tech content, high production difficulty, high value-added products. Up to now, among domestic and foreign steel enterprises, only Anshan Iron and Steel has product certification and mass production capacity. In the field of cryogenic materials required for the construction of liquefied carbon dioxide carriers, Anshan Iron and Steel people once again seized the market opportunity with independent innovation.
Previously, there was no practical example of low-temperature high-strength steel applied to liquid carbon dioxide chambers at home and abroad, and in the face of the urgent need for new materials for the construction of the world's first 7,500 cubic meter liquefied carbon dioxide carrier, we quickly invested in scientific research. Han Peng recalled that they innovated and proposed a new material chemical composition system to meet the requirements of low-temperature performance, and worked day and night for more than 300 days by optimizing hundreds of process technical parameters in the smelting and rolling process, and finally solved the six core key problems that plagued product research and development, and successfully developed new products.
