In May of the fifth year of Cao Wei Ganlu (260 years), Emperor Cao Chao of Wei was forced to issue an edict to crown Sima Zhao as the Duke of Jin and add Jiuxi, Sima Zhao pretended to resign and did not accept it, but Sima Zhao's previous actions had embarked on a substantial road to usurpation.
Once Sima Zhao added Jiuxi and Jin was crowned as the Duke of Jin, it meant that Cao Wei's demise was only a matter of time, and Cao Chao's fate was similar to that of Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty.
Although this move is risky, but in the general righteousness, Sima Zhao is still his own courtier, forgive him and dare not order people to resist, and rush out of the palace to assassinate, and make the matter known to the world, you can force some faceless scholars to stand in line, even if he dies, he can also stigmatize Sima Zhao and force him to slow down the pace of usurpation, and the Cao family will have a chance, and they will not lose.
Two Jin Dynasty periods. In this way, Cao Chao secretly set up an assassination strategy, and informed his close ministers Wang Shen, Wang Jing, and Wang Ye, but after Wang Shen and Wang Ye learned about it, they revealed the assassination news to Sima Zhao behind Cao Chao's back.
When Sima Zhao learned that Cao Chao was going to assassinate him, he was really frightened, and he didn't even know how to deal with it.
Throughout the ages, the king wants his ministers to die, and the ministers have to die, Cao Chao oppresses himself with righteousness, how can he resist?
Sima Zhao immediately decided to send someone to stop Cao Chao first, but these soldiers saw the emperor moving forward with their swords, and they retreated one after another and did not dare to stop him.
Under the majesty of the Son of Heaven, no one dared to step forward.
Seeing that Cao Chao was about to arrive at Sima Zhao's mansion, in a panic, Jia Chong instigated Cheng Ji to assassinate Cao Chao on the street, and this hot-blooded young man who wanted to emulate his grandfather Cao Cao's achievements died on the street.
Although there have been many powerful ministers who have assassinated kings before, this is the first time that they have been assassinated in the street.
Knowing that Cheng Ji killed the monarch on the street, Sima Zhao was also so frightened that he collapsed to the ground, he knew that the reputation of the Sima clan was completely finished in the later generations, and the Sima clan was destined to be stinking for 10,000 years, and he would have to bear the charge of killing the monarch for eternity.
Cheng Ji was this time, and the Sima clan was captured forever and became notorious.
Although Sima Zhao finally tried to enthrone the Duke of Jin, the evil consequences of killing the monarch shrouded Sima Zhao's family, although Sima Zhao and Sima Yan were able to give birth and even established the Western Jin Dynasty, but in just fifty years, all the descendants were killed and completely extinct, perhaps this is the curse after the murder of the monarch.
Let's take a look at Sima Zhao first, Sima Zhao has a total of nine sons, namely Sima Yan, Sima You, Sima Zhao, Sima Dingguo, Sima Guangde, Sima Jian, Sima Ji, Sima Yongzuo and Sima Yanzuo.
Among them, Sima Zhao, Sima Dingguo, Sima Guangde, and Sima Yongzuo all died early, and Sima Ji and Sima Yanzuo had no children, and only Sima Yan, Sima You, and Sima Jian could leave descendants.
Emperor Wu of the Jin Dynasty, Sima Yan, as the founding emperor of the Western Jin Dynasty, had many harems and many heirs, and gave birth to twenty-six sons before and after, but only Sima Zhen, Sima Cambodia, Sima Wei, Sima Yun, Sima Yao, Sima Yi, Sima Ying, Sima Yan, Sima Chi and Sima Yan lived to adulthood.
Emperor Sima Zhen of Jin Hui had a prince Sima Shu, Sima Shu was killed by Empress Jia, and his three grandsons died one after another, and Sima Zhen was regarded as an heir.
Sima Yan and his sheep cart.
Sima Khan, Sima Chi and Sima Yan were originally childless, among which Sima Chi was still the third emperor of the Western Jin Dynasty, Emperor Huai of Jin, but they either died in the Rebellion of the Eight Kings or the Yongjia Rebellion, and they were no heirs.
Sima Wei was a participant in the Rebellion of the Eight Kings, one of his two sons died young, and the other son Sima Fan Yongjia was killed by Shi Le during the rebellion, and Sima Wei was an extinct heir.
Sima Yun had three sons, and was killed along with his three sons in the usurpation of Sima Lun, the king of Zhao.
Sima Yao had four sons, the eldest son Sima Qin was killed by Sima Yue, and the other three sons died in the Yongjia Rebellion and were extinct.
Sima Yi died in the Eight Kings Rebellion, and his two sons also died in the Yongjia Rebellion, and they were no heirs.
Sima Ying was also a participant in the Rebellion of the Eight Kings, and his two sons died together with him in the Rebellion of the Eight Kings and became heirs.
Sima Yan's five sons, four of whom died in the Yongjia Rebellion, and the remaining one of his sons was Sima Ye, the last emperor of the Western Jin Dynasty.
In this way, Sima Yan, as the founding emperor, although he had many heirs, he couldn't stand these people from fighting each other, and all of them died.
Sima You was succeeded by Sima Zhao to his elder brother Sima Shi, but Sima You's only three sons who lived to adulthood were Sima Rui, Sima Wei and Sima Yin.
Among them, Sima Jian first killed his brother Sima Rui, and was killed by Sima Yi, and the rest of the heirs died in the Yongjia Rebellion and were extinct.
The Yongjia Rebellion. Sima Zhao's last surviving son, Sima Jian, had only one son, Sima Ji, who had no children and no heirs.
In the first year of Taixing (318), Sima Ye was killed, and so far Sima Zhao and his family have not survived in the world.
To tell the truth, the number of clans in the Western Jin Dynasty is still very large, from Sima Yi's brothers to the fifth generation, more than 200 people before and after, but when the Eastern Jin Dynasty opened the country, the Sima family was able to survive to only 12 people, and the rest either died in the Eight Kings Rebellion or died in the Yongjia Rebellion, and the massacre lasted for more than 20 years.
When Sima Ling's grandson Sima Rui gained a firm foothold in Jiangnan and became the emperor, he found that there were only twelve members of the Sima clan who could run to Jiangnan alive, and these twelve people had no descendants of Sima Zhao and Sima Yan.
The reason is that in the rebellion of the Eight Kings, some sect kings deliberately stared at the descendants of Sima Zhao and Sima Yan in order to compete for the throne.
Of course, although Sima Rui is the great-grandson of Sima Yi, there are many of the eleven emperors of the Eastern Jin Dynasty who have no heirs and most of them are short-lived, and the five emperors of Emperor Mu of Jin, Emperor Ai of Jin, Emperor Abolish of Jin, Emperor An of Jin, and Emperor Gong of Jin have also died successively.
Of course, this is not the worst, after Liu Yu usurped the throne, he slaughtered a wave of Sima clans, but he did not kill them all, and there were still many Sima clans serving official positions, which can be regarded as a continuation of Sima Yi's bloodline, and Sima Guang of the Northern Song Dynasty is the descendant of Sima Yi's brother Sima Fu.
Sima Guang. Maybe the curse of killing the monarch really exists, the two Jin Dynasty add up to one hundred and fifty-five years, fifteen emperors, and nine heirs, and the strength of this heir can be compared with the two Song Dynasty in later generations.
