In order to thoroughly implement the "Opinions on Strengthening the Work of the Working Committee for Caring for the Next Generation in the New Era" issued by the General Office of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the Communist Party of China to promote the mental health of students with multiple departments, a few days ago, the "Light Up Mental Health Public Welfare Action" initiated by the Health and Sports Development Center of the China Care for the Next Generation Working Committee and the China Campus Health Action was officially launched in Beijing, and the leaders and experts at the meeting expressed their recognition and support for the activity.

In recent years, mental health problems have gradually become a common social problem faced by countries around the world. China is no exception, some studies show that these mental health problems have gradually extended from the first, occupational groups to primary and secondary school students, and show a "young" development trend, strengthening adolescent mental health education has become the consensus of the whole society. To this end, the Ministry of Education and 17 other departments jointly issued the "Special Action Plan for Comprehensively Strengthening and Improving Student Mental Health in the New Era (2023-2025)". Hao Yi, deputy secretary-general of the China Working Committee for the Next Generation, pointed out that this mental health public welfare activity is an important implementation of the general secretary's "further strengthening the safety and protection of children in schools and society".

Yin Dakui, former vice minister of the Ministry of Health, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chief expert on health education of the Ministry of Health, and president of the China Health Education Association, believes that students' mental health is not only related to personal growth and development, but also affects families, schools and society. Therefore, paying attention to students' mental health and strengthening mental health education has become an important task in the current education field.

Zhang Wenzhong, deputy director and secretary general of the Ministry of Education, stressed that in today's society, students are facing pressure from study, family, social and other aspects. These pressures may lead to psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, and students' mental health problems cannot be ignored.

It is reported that the Lighting Mental Health Public Welfare Action aims to go into the campus to do an objective and accurate screening and evaluation of mental health conditions for students, and establish a mental health early warning mechanism to find problems in a timely manner, so as to facilitate timely intervention, help schools to carry out mental health prevention and treatment work efficiently and accurately, improve the school mental health education system, form a psychological crisis early warning mechanism, and effectively play the radiation role of mental health education.

Based on the objective physiological indicators of the human body, with the help of the leading domestic brain-computer interface medical device-level screening equipment, the public welfare action adopts a new EEG screening method, which is based on the objective physiological indicators of the human body, to build a quantitative screening service system that realizes multimodal objective physiological indicators, and provides psychological screening services for adolescent users.

Li Jinglong, the organizer of the project and the executive deputy director of the Health and Sports Development Center of the China Care for the Next Generation Working Committee, pointed out at the kick-off meeting that after nearly two years of efforts, screening service points have been established in more than a dozen provinces across the country, and screening service teams have been formed, and in the 2024 winter vacation season, it is expected that by the middle of 24, screening points will be spread to 20 provinces across the country. At the same time, in the second half of 2024, the screening data will be synchronized with the education department and the health department, and the adolescent mental health department will be jointly written, and efforts will be made to contribute to China's care for the next generation.

Young people are the future of the motherland and the hope of the nation. The school is an important growth environment for teenagers, and it is of great significance to strengthen and improve the mental health of students in the new era.
