My ancients discovered that if you only follow the solar calendar, it does not correspond to the laws of the moon; However, if we only rely on the lunar calendar, there is no fixed time for the change of spring, summer, autumn and winter, and it cannot accurately reflect the change of seasons. Faced with this dilemma, people cleverly combined the solar calendar with the lunar calendar, using the solar calendar to record the months and the solar calendar to record the years.

So why is the lunisolar calendar called the "lunar calendar"?

It is said that Linglun, the first official of the Yellow Emperor period, filled the twelve law pipes and Lu pipes with a kind of ash burned with the film inside the reed pole, buried them in the house in the northwest Yin Mountain, and surrounded them with cloth, so that they could not penetrate a trace of wind. As soon as the yang energy came out, the ash in the first nine-inch-long tube named Huang Zhong flew out and made a "buzzing" sound. Therefore, this tone is called "Yellow Bell", this time is called "Zi", this solar term is called "Winter Solstice", and this process is called "Lu Lu Tunes Yang". When the "winter solstice" is determined, the lunisolar calendar and the solar terms have successfully cooperated, and it has become a "lunar calendar" that can guide the agricultural time.
