Come on, my mom fainted. "At about 12:15 on February 5, a middle-aged female passenger in Wuhan Tianhe Airport suddenly had convulsions and fainted.

Professor Quintana saves lives.

I was in the waiting room writing about my study in China when I suddenly heard someone talking loudly. A few seconds later, a woman's screams are heard. Quintana recalls that when he heard the screams, he immediately went to check and found that Air China staff were already checking on the fainted patient. When Quintana saw the fainting patient, she told Air China staff that she was a doctor and went up to check the patient's pulse. After the quintana examination, the patient was not breathing and his lips were purple. Quintana, a cardiac surgeon, immediately reacted that it was cardiac arrest. He rushed to perform CPR compressions on the patient while telling airport staff that he needed a defibrillation machine. "From the time I asked them for a defibrillator to the time they brought it to me, it was less than 1 minute. Quintana was amazed and impressed by such a quick response.

Quintana was then tested with an AED (defibrillation instrument) to confirm that the patient had malignant ventricular arrhythmias. "CPR was non-stop, from the time I arrived, followed by the defibrillator, to the gradual recovery of her pulse, blood pressure and consciousness. Quintana said the rescue continued until the patient's consciousness gradually returned, after which the medical team at the airport took the patient to the hospital.

It is reported that the patient was already able to speak in a wheelchair when she was taken to the hospital, and although she was still unable to express herself accurately, she was basically out of danger.

It is understood that Professor Eduard Quintana is from the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the University Hospital of Barcelona, Spain, and made a special trip to Tongji Hospital affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology to learn myocardial atherectomy technology with Professor Wei Xiang's team. During the one-month period, he and another anesthesiologist fully participated in clinical rounds, case analysis, surgical observation, etc., and had a deep understanding of the world's first myocardial atherectomy technology independently developed by Professor Wei Xiang's team, and spoke highly of it. At the airport, Quintana took the initiative to say to the staff who inquired: "I have a colleague who works in Tongji Hospital. Quintana said that during the more than a month he studied at Tongji Hospital, he also experienced Chinese culture such as window cutting, which is already his second home, and he hopes to introduce the technology to Spain and promote it in Europe.

Quintana said that when he was resuscitating patients, he found that the Air China medical team at Tianhe Airport also had staff with CPR certification. He said it made him feel very safe because people were in a protected, very safe environment at Wuhan Tianhe Airport.
