The Spring Festival is coming, and many friends are ready to take a long-distance flight home or travel, so for patients with pulmonary nodules who have just undergone surgery, can they travel by plane? There were three patients from Europe and the United States in my ward, and I had to fly home for more than ten hours.
Generally speaking, after lung nodule surgery, you can be discharged from the hospital in about three or four days, and 90% of people will basically return to normal in about one to two weeks. A foreign doctor once did a study: the results showed that when the patient recovers after surgery, it is okay to fly for about a week.
But I still don't recommend it that fast, after all, planes and trains are still not the same, and flying in the sky is more difficult to deal with in case of any situation. Especially for those who are going to be on a long-haul flight, it is recommended to travel in two to four weeks.
In addition, it is best to take a film before taking a plane to check whether there is pleural effusion, gas, or infection. This is because after the plane flies into the sky, it is low atmospheric pressure, which is different from the ground pressure, our chest and lungs will be more or less affected, and breathing is related to air pressure.
If you have had lung surgery again, it is better to have a wound or a little safer, wait two weeks to four weeks, and then according to the recovery, if everything is in good condition, breathing and heartbeat are basically normal, then there will be no major problems in flying.
