When using Excel, sometimes we may need to make sure that all cells are the same size to keep them neat and consistent. This can be achieved by several methods, and here are some steps and tricks that can help you resize cells in an excel sheet.
Method 1: Adjust the cell size manually
1.Select rows and columns: When the mouse is placed in the column header and it turns into a small black arrow, hold down the left button to select the row or column you want to resize.
2.Drag the boundary: Hover the mouse pointer over the border of the selected cell until it becomes a double-headed arrow. Then, drag the arrows to resize the cells.
Method 2: Use the Row Height Column Width dialog box
1.Select Rows and Columns: Firstly, select the range of rows and columns of cells you want to resize.
2.Open the Row Height or Column Width dialog box: Right-click at the column header (when the mouse turns to a small black arrow) and right-click.
3.Adjust Dimensions: In the displayed Row Height or Column Width dialog box, you can specify specific values for row height and column width.
4.Confirm the changes: After entering the required dimensions, click the "OK" button to apply the changes.
Method 3: Automatically adjust the column width
If you want Excel to automatically adjust the column width according to the cell contents, you can use the auto-adjust feature.
When the mouse is placed in the column header and turns into a small black arrow, hold down the left button and select the column you want to resize. Then double-click the left mouse button, Excel will automatically adjust the column width according to the width of the content in the column. Of course, the cells don't have to be the same size at this time.
Precautions. When resizing cells, make sure you don't compromise the integrity and readability of your data.
If your worksheet contains merged cells, resizing may be subject to some limitations.
When using the auto-resize column width feature, be aware that it may adjust the column width based on the length of the content, which may affect the overall layout.
