Julie partnered Washington in the 1999 thriller The Bone Pickers. In this film, she plays Amelia Donaghi, a police officer who is romantically involved with Lincoln Rhyme, a forensic expert played by Washington, as they work together to try to catch a serial killer who kidnaps and brutally kills his victim.
The film is unique in that – the character played by Washington is a quadriplegic.
So, Amelia went out to investigate the crime scene and gave Lincoln what she saw back, and Lincoln guided her throughout the investigation.
Due to Lincoln's paralysis, Julie and Washington had to build a romantic relationship between the characters in a different way than in other films, relying on intimacy rather than physical contact.
