Why is Macron not in favor of the confiscation of Russian assets

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, there have been endless calls from Western countries to confiscate Russia's $300 billion in assets in the West, especially represented by the United States and the United Kingdom.

However, not all Western allies agree with the Anglo-American proposal. France's Macron is against this.

On March 5, Russia Today TV reported that France's Macron warned against confiscating frozen Russian assets, a move that would violate international law and weaken Europe.

Is this really the case?

With regard to the extreme actions of Britain and the United States, Moscow has always stressed that if the West really does this, then Russia will definitely take countermeasures.

You know, most of Russia's assets are in Europe. And Europe has essentially the same amount of assets in Russia.

The West estimates that Western assets in Russia are close to 300 billion of Russian assets in the West, about more than 280 billion US dollars. For example, France has more than 16 billion assets in Russia, while Britain and the United States have 23 billion dollars.

According to Macron, if Britain and the United States push for the confiscation of Russian assets, first, it violates international law, and second, it seriously weakens Europe.

The crux of the matter is that the West has set a bad precedent, which will cause a serious decline in the credibility of the country and chaos in the international order.

Netizens believe that Biden** encourages Europe to attack Russia, and his purpose is to suppress Europe, and his heart is reprehensible.
