However, despite the sincerity and goodwill of our side, the Taiwan Coast Guard has behaved arrogantly and unreasonably, refusing to admit its mistake and still less willing to publicly apologize or compensate for the incident. As a result, negotiations between the two sides are currently at an impasse.
In addition to the confrontation at the negotiation table, in order to maintain peace and order in the Xiajin waters, as well as to protect the safe fishing rights and interests of Chinese fishermen in the relevant waters, our side has recently begun to carry out regular law enforcement patrols in the Xiajin waters. The move drew a reaction from the Taiwan side and the Coast Guard. However, just as the tension over the "fishing boat incident" was escalating, the United States, the biggest backstage of the Taiwan authorities, took another step to stir up the situation!
According to relevant sources, the United States has recently sent a new batch of so-called "gratuitous military aid" to the Taiwan authorities. The aid consists primarily of more than 80,000 U.S. military combat uniforms equipped with Level 4 ballistic plates. However, these combat uniforms are all obsolete equipment decommissioned by the US military, and it is clear that the United States has used Taiwan as a "shelter" for disposing of expired supplies. This move can not only solve the troubles of the United States, but also improve the defense capability of the Taiwan army, which can be described as an ingenious move!
However, this move by the United States is undoubtedly a provocative act! At the current critical juncture, the United States has gone so far as to openly provide Taiwan with so-called "gratuitous military aid," which, on the one hand, has misled the Taiwan authorities and the armed forces in the Taiwan region and made them mistakenly believe that the United States will always support them, and this is bound to make the Taiwan authorities even more arrogant and tougher. On the other hand, this is also a blatant interference in China's internal affairs and an unreasonable violation of China's sovereignty, which is really outrageous!
However, even if the US-Taiwan collusion is so crazy, it cannot change the fact that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. A mere 80,000 sets of retired combat uniforms of the US military cannot change the huge gap in strength between the two sides of the strait. If the Taiwan authorities vainly attempt to rely on the support of the United States to commit misdeeds, they will only end up reaping the consequences of their own evil and will certainly pay a heavy price.
Under the current situation, we call on the Taiwan authorities to have a clear understanding of the situation and stop all words and deeds that endanger peaceful development. At the same time, we also warn the United States not to stir up trouble on the Taiwan issue and not to misjudge the situation, so as not to cause irreparable consequences.
