Undergraduate instrumentalists at Carnegie Mellon University can earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in each orchestral instrument, as well as bagpipes, alto, guitar, and saxophone.

Undergraduate students at Carnegie Mellon University can earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano Performance. At the heart of the piano performance major is private studio instruction from Carnegie Mellon University's world-class faculty. Master classes by famous visiting artists are added to master classes by the resident teachers.

Collaborative playing is an important part of keyboard lessons. Piano students receive supervised instruction in collaborative piano, keyboard harmony, and chamber music.

03.Vocal performance.

Carnegie Mellon University's vocal performance program prepares singers for careers in opera and the arena. **Alumni of the Academy currently perform with orchestras and opera companies around the world, as well as performing on Broadway.

Vocal Performance students learn classical bel canto singing with an emphasis on vocal health. Four semesters of acting and dancing improved their acting skills. Each year, the College presents two fully staged productions at the Philip Chosky Theatre at the Purnell Center for the Arts and a third fully staged production at the Alumni Concert Hall. All productions were designed by students of the School of Drama.

Vocal Performance students also learn Italian, French, and German, as well as English language dictions; Recitals in junior and senior years include repertoire in all four languages.
