The String Academy also encourages students to take courses in other majors to obtain multi-faceted and all-dimensional training, aiming to cultivate all-round artists who can meet the requirements of various career directions.
04.Woodwinds, brass and percussion.
Grounded in creativity and professional focus, the Woodwind, Brass & Percussion Academy provides an immersive learning environment for young learners.
In addition to one-to-one professional lessons, group lessons and master classes, the Academy has many professional partners around the world, such as the European Chamber Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Wind Orchestra. Through the performances of these partners, students not only improve their skills and gain experience, but also get a taste of the professional atmosphere of other countries. On campus, RNCM offers students a variety of intercollegiate collaborative performance opportunities through numerous orchestras and ensembles. Every year, the college organizes wind and percussion festivals as well as saxophone and percussion days, focusing on professional disciplines and allowing students to get more exercise.

RNCM is the only college in the UK to offer a four-year popular undergraduate degree, and is a top destination for students who aspire to become original artists and professionals. The programme is designed to prepare students to become 21st century 3D-Masters – acting, composing and producing – while also focusing on developing students' artistic attainments and developing their creativity and professional skills through intensive individual and teamwork practice.

The Keyboard Academy has some of the best piano configurations in the UK, including 49 Steinway pianos, 75 Yamaha pianos and clavichords. Piano student opportunities include weekly performance lessons, a total of six in-house competitions covering a variety of repertoire, professional performances across the UK, and an annual Piano Day. Piano students also have the opportunity to work with chamber music groups with modern and historical instruments, as well as perform in opera and orchestral groups.
07.Academic research.
The Department of Academic Studies provides a solid foundation for undergraduate education in the Bachelor of Honours (Honours), which includes courses in Liberal Studies, History and Cultural Studies, Performance and Repertoire, and Language, all of which are designed to support students' major subjects.
Academic research courses include explorations of historical and contemporary performance practices, composition, notation, orchestral, and other arts (painting, architecture, film), stage, and arrangement, complementing students' practical work and future career aspirations.
08.Command.
RNCM's command line is at the forefront of the world. In recent years, RNCM-trained conductors have worked as assistant conductors with the Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Hallé Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra and Minnesota Symphony Orchestra after completing their studies.
Benefiting from the Department's in-depth collaboration with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, in addition to instructing students in instrumental and vocal performances, students are also able to work with experienced professional players in professional orchestras, where they serve as assistant conductors, and final exams are held at the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra's first meeting.
