ISO834-1 Fire Resistance Test of Building Components General Requirements.
This European standard specifies a test method for determining the contribution of an applied passive fire protection system to the fire resistance of structural steel members that can be used as beams or columns. It only considers the part that does not have an opening. It is not directly applicable to structural tension members without further evaluation.
The results of the analysis of the I or H sections are directly applicable to angles, channels and T-sections of the same cross-section factor, whether used as a single element or as a support. This European standard does not apply to solid rods or rods. This European standard covers fire protection systems that only involve passive materials and not reactive fire protection materials as defined in this document. The assessment aims to cover a range of thickness fireproof materials applied, a series of steel segments characterized by their cross-sectional factors, a range of design temperatures and a range of effective fire classification periods. This European standard contains fire test procedures, specifies the tests to be carried out to determine the ability of a fire protection system to remain coherent and attached to the steel structure, and provides thermal data on the characteristics of the fire protection system, in accordance with the standard temperature time curve specified in EN 1363-1. The fire test method provides conditions for the collection and presentation of data, and the steel structural components that can be used as a direct input for the calculation of fire resistance are carried out in accordance with the procedures given in EN 1993-1-2 and EN 1994-1-2. This European standard also contains an evaluation that specifies how the test data should be analysed and guides the procedures that should be interpolated. The evaluation procedure is used to establish: a) the temperature data obtained from the loading and unloading sections of the test, the correction factor and any practical constraints (physical properties) of the fire protection test using the fire protection system; b) Based on the temperature data of the test stub steel section, the thermal properties (thermal properties) of the fire protection system, the scope of application of the results of the evaluation of the fire test results, it is allowed to be directly applied to different steel sections, grades and fire protection systems. The results show that the tests and evaluations obtained according to this European standard are directly applicable to steel sections with I and H cross-section shapes and hollow cross-sections.
