Probably like most of my classmates, I also finished the PMP exam and then switched to the soft entrance examination, which lasted 1 year and 1 month.
For the first time, he was quarantined at home on the day of the exam due to the epidemic;
The second time was in May 2023, ** failed with 34 points (48-50-34);
The third time is on October 28, 2023 (yes, you read that right, guinea pig, it is the first day of the computer-based test), and the results of the three subjects passed the line at the same time with 45 points (52-58-46), and finally won the certificate of the soft test high item.
To summarize the process of preparing for the exam in one sentence, that is: do your best and obey the destiny of God.
Why?
My main job is international business BD, and by chance, there happened to be a project going overseas in 21 years, which had to be just delivered, so I participated in the project and took on the role of half of the PM.
Let's start with the things that made me difficult to prepare for the exam
1.Course content arrangement:
1.1.Very much content.
Watch **class, do exercises + past past questions, prepare**, live class, mock exam....(Without going into too much detail).
1.2.For the three preparations, the versions of the exams are all different, such as the third edition, the third and fourth editions are combined, and the fourth edition....(There is a slight difference with PMP, and it gradually converges).
1.3.Calculations, for liberal arts students....It doesn't look easy.
1.4.Non-technical background, IT professional technology and IT facts and current affairs, the content system is huge and complex, and the special details are examined.
2.Exam form:
2.1.Switching from a paper-based test to a computer-based test requires testing the system in advance, familiarizing yourself with the process, and being drawn to take the test on the first day, which is actually really rushed.
2.2.After the computer-based test, we are faced with the randomness and free combination of questions, which is actually more comprehensive for our assessment.
3.Work, Family & Exam Preparation:
Working families need to invest time and energy, understandably, but they need to plan their time wisely, setting aside 2 hours a day and at least 1 full day on weekends to study. (Depending on when you start preparing for the exam), the earlier you start, the more time you have, and the less pressure you have to prepare for the exam).
Here's how I overcame my demons
1.Arrangement for course content:
1.1.Do what you should do, don't omit the process in the middle, come step by step, Banban and Teacher Huang will also dynamically adjust the plan at any time, everyone should pay attention in time, if the progress is temporarily behind, communicate with Banban in time, and give priority to what content to follow.
1.2.I will print all the content in the paper version, and even print the difficult content in color, and do a good job of preview before the live class, and highlight the highlights.
1.3.Understanding the distribution and weighting of test scores can alleviate a lot of anxiety, such as the distribution of multiple-choice questions in the morning, IT practical politics, foreign language multiple-choice questions, and so on.
1.4.In the second half of the year, Mr. Huang supplemented the ** special courses and live broadcasts, and the quality of the courses was very highRemember to do it, polish it, and optimize it according to the teacher's modificationsFor example, the ** question of the first day of the exam happened to be one of the three articles pressed by Mr. Huang, and it was also the worst one I wrote in practice**, but fortunately, I carefully read the teacher's correction opinions, model essays, and optimized and adjusted. Pay attention to the overall structure and structure the idea.
1.5.What should be memorized and understood, it must be done, such as ITTO, eight performance domains and other basic test content.
1.6.Communicate with the class in a timely manner, give feedback and ask questions in a timely manner.
2.For exam format:
2.1.Take 2-3 hours before the test, test the system in advance according to the requirements, watch the ** guidance of the class, two screens, pause by pause, and get started by yourself, especially drawing questions.
2.2.The advantage of the computer-based test is that you have a calculator and you don't have to play with handwritten drafts. In addition, for students who do not lift the pen for a long time,It is also a good thing,Typing speed is much faster than handwriting,Complaining,The input method of the examination room system is really not easy to use,The scene also has to overcome the sound of the surrounding crackling and tapping on the keyboard。
3.1.Drawing on the advice of my classmates, I took three days off at home SOHO before the exam, and I gave priority to urgent things at work, and the rest of the time focused on reviewing and sprinting, and I also had a small episode in this exam, because of the time difference and international projects, I only slept for 2 hours on Friday night, and I relied on coffee and cola all day on Saturday....
3.2.The test center is too far away, just near the examination room to book a hotel in advance, the first half of the test day is a rainstorm, it is said that some students are late, did not let into the examination room.
The above is a small summary of my own preparation process, I hope it will be helpful to students who are preparing for the exam next, good luck!
