On March 2, Tencent's shooting game "Operation Delta" held a pop-up trial in Shanghai.

After experiencing the two modes of "Dangerous Operation" and "Total Battlefield" in the morning and evening, respectivelyThe author invited more than 20 players to rate the game, according to the 10 out of 10, the average score is 76 points.

Since it was first revealed at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany in August last year, "Operation Delta" has been expected by players, and has even been named the title of COD and BF killer.

Judging from the author's experience and the feedback from other players, although there are still flaws, the game is quite worth looking forward to.

On-site experience

The trial of Operation Delta was held in an open space next to Raffles City in Changning, Shanghai. The entire "Internet café greenhouse" covers an area of 1,000 square meters, and on the outside of the greenhouse, the official has carefully set up check-in points for players and passers-by to check in.

It was a cold day in Shanghai, but when I arrived at the site at 10 a.m., there was already a long queue at the entrance of the venue. It is said that some players waited at the door an hour and a half in advance.

Officials offered two new maps on the day: the "Operation Dangerous" map Dam Zero from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the "Total Battlefield" map Ember Zone from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

After about two and a half hours of queuing, I finally entered the venue. Dozens of computers are lined up in the field, and staff are scattered all over the place to answer players' questions as soon as possible. The southwest corner of the venue is dedicated to a special area for players to communicate with the planner one-on-one.

The first thing I played was Dam Zero in the "Operation Danger" mode.

This is the "Tarkov-like" tactical gold mode. Players can team up with friends after planning the equipment and props to carry; Or a lone wolf goes deep into the map, obtains ** value items through exploration, collection, and fighting, and finally evacuates under the siege of other players.

What impressed me the most was the modding system in the game.

According to the official introduction, this trial launched 16 new guns and more than 60 accessories. The refinement of the retrofitting system is impressive, and you can even choose where the grip is mounted.

The player next door to me changed to a very strong Type 95, and the reasonable modification made its recoil so small that it was almost negligible.

After the day's play, I came to the venue again at 5 p.m. to line up. Also after 2 hours, I played the "Total Battlefield" mode.

The "Total Battlefield" mode is the same as the Breakthrough mode in the Battlefield series, and players are divided into two sides: offense and defense. The attacker needs to advance layer by layer and capture all the defender's strongholds before the force is depleted. The defender needs to hold the stronghold and consume its strength under the onslaught of the attacker.

This mode places a lot of emphasis on coordination between squads. Similar to "Battlefield", this mode is differentiated in terms of troops, classes, guns, and props, and the combat rhythm is tense and exciting.

The game's graphics and gun feel are the same as in the trailer. But in terms of character mobility and smoothness of movement, it is still a bit stiffHopefully it will be improved in a future release.

20 players, an average score of 76

Since the author has not played much of a "Tarkov-like" game before, and the playing time is only 40 minutes, I can't give a more comprehensive and in-depth experience report. In fact, in the "Dangerous Operations" mode during the day, I experienced the "collapse of the middle way" halfway through the experience.

Therefore, after the trial ended, I chatted with more than 20 trial players about the game experience.

Among them, there are veteran players who have participated in many closed beta tests, experts who focus on mobile game FPS, loyal players who have traveled from afar, and ...... well-known game streamers

The feedback was varied and interesting.

Based on a maximum score of 10, the average score given by players to Operation Delta is 76 points. High degree of completion, good game graphics, good operation feel, excellent sense of impact, easy to use, and low threshold have become the main reasons for players to give higher scores.

One player who gave an 8 rating detailed the highlights of the game: in the "Danger Zone" mode, the appearance of Mandel bricks will speed up the intensity of the game; The output of material points is very clear, which is convenient for players to quickly deploy the strategy of seeking and leaving; There are also quite a few surprises in the quest system in the mode; The high material refresh rate of the Easter egg point also makes him happy to explore and dig in the map.

Another player who gave a full score said: For a game independently produced by a domestic team, it is a very powerful ability to integrate various gameplay methods.

However, the player's complaints are also merciless.

The game UI is a "big problem" that players complain about. One player bluntly said that the UI is a bit ugly. "The Total War UI is not good, which hinders players from obtaining battlefield information"; "The squad character status UI and combat readiness UI are not good, it should be more simplified! ”

For the sound and picture experience that most players admired, two "professionals" put forward different opinions. They believe that there is a big problem with the graphics texture of the game, and it should not be produced at the same level as it is in the sky. Another player mentioned that when the character walked across different materials, there was a noticeable delay in the stampede sound, which greatly affected the game's tactical experience.

In terms of the core gameplay experience, players have more points of criticism.

Some players mentioned that the reuse rate of dangerous operation resources is a bit too high, and the "sundries" resources basically have no meaning to exist, and only "purple" and "gold" quality loot need to be picked up.

The map balance of the all-out battlefield is slightly poor, and there is no buffer between regions, which is easy to be taken down by one wave; The game TTK is a bit short, some guns have high recoil, ** the balance is slightly poor, and there may be a situation where some guns are useless......

Regarding the player's feedback collected by the author, the planner of "Operation Delta" said that the upcoming beta version will fix a small number of bugs in this trial. At the same time, the game will continue to improve based on player feedback.

And there are still too few of these modes of touching gold. If Delta can improve its own gold mode and form a system, there will definitely be no fewer players.

Secondly, there are too many people on the in-game map. On the same scale, the customs at Tarkov had only 10 to 12 men, or even less, while the Longbow Valley was filled with at least 15 men at a time. The frequency of fights is too frequent, and it is not suitable for the theme of touching gold.

Due to the current overcrowding situation, the resources in the map are far from sufficient. Moreover, the probability of a low-value refresh is much higher than that of **-value items, making it difficult for each team of players to fill their backpacks, and if they want to earn more, they will have to fight.

This kind of encouragement of fighting is not advisable in the gold mode. The money earned and consumption are unequal, and they can't operate their own gold characters for a long time.

Third, the spawn points of high-level items are too concentrated, or the value of the rest of the items is too low.

As a result, players who seek to make more money and touch more money have to go to the boss and safe, but due to the first-come, first-served and fixed location, they can only take turns fighting, and the winner will earn money in the end. Those who don't fight can only touch the garbage. The material issue had to be changed.

Willingness to play:I will definitely play, whether I am looking forward to the emergence of a direct competitor to Tarkov, or the emergence of a gold game that can make me play a little more relaxed, or as a relatively good FPS work independently developed in China, it is very worth playing for me.

Defects:: It's too "like" some games, there are a lot of shadows of different games; The shooting feedback is too poor to determine where the attack has hit; Searchable items are not recognizable enough;

The miscellaneous items touched in the battle situation have no meaning except for selling and rarely exchanging randomly, resulting in only "purple" and "gold" having to pick up; Battlefield mode has poor balance, and the vehicle does not have a driver's seat**.

Willingness to play:Definitely play. The reason is simple, it's fun. I hadn't touched Tarkov before, and I liked the subtraction it did relative to Tarkov. It's not so hardcore, the game is not realistic, and it's enough for players. For most players, you don't want a gaming experience that's too hardcore.
