The movie Onward is an American 3D animated adventure comedy released in 2020 and produced by Disney Pixar Animation Studios.
Synopsis of the film
In a world where magic once existed, there are two brothers, Ian and Barry, who lost their father before they could do anything else. On Ian's 16th birthday, the brothers received a gift from their deceased father, a magic wand. Under the guidance of his brother Barry, Ian accidentally turned on magic, and they tried to use magic to bring his father back to the day, but only succeeded in summoning half of his father. In order to find the complete father, the brothers follow various clues and go through a series of fantastical adventures. During their adventures, they get acquainted with friends such as Miss Manticore-tailed Flying Lion and Dwarven Elves. Eventually, Ian decides to lure the dragon away on his own, leaving the chance to see his father to his brother.

During the journey, there are many conflicts and disputes between his younger brother Ian and his older brother, especially in the beginning, Ian has no trust in his brother's decisions and behavior, and even has suspicion and resentment. However, in order to win the chance to be with his father, Ian continues to embark on this adventure with his brother.
As they try to disguise themselves with magic in an attempt to evade the police, Ian's lies expose his inner misunderstanding and resentment towards his brother.
