Moscow Power Institute (Russian: is a university located in the Lefortovo district of Moscow, Russia, with the main fields of power engineering, electronics and information technology. In 1930, in order to meet the demand for engineers in industrialization, the Supreme Economic Council of the USSR ordered the division of Bauman Moscow State Technical University and the Plekhanov University of Economics in Russia into several faculties, and merged the relevant faculties to form the Moscow Power Institute.

Moscow Power Engineering Institute is one of the most famous universities in the former Soviet Union, and one of the most famous technical universities in Russia in the fields of energy, electrical, electronic and information science. In 1992, Moscow Power Engineering Institute was awarded the title of "Technical University", and in 2010 it was awarded the title of "National Research University".

Since 1946, the Moscow Power Institute has been training foreign engineers and researchers. Since the first batch of Chinese students entered the Moscow Institute of Power Engineering in the 50s of the last century, the school has trained more than 270 experts and scholars for China in recent years, and many famous scholars have emerged who have contributed to China's scientific progress and economic development. Comrade Li Peng, who was the premier of the People's Republic of China, is one of the many famous graduates of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute and an honorary doctorate from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

School size

Moscow Power Institute has 70 departments, 550 teaching laboratories, more than 100 research laboratories and a higher technical center. There are more than 15,000 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students, including 950 undergraduate and graduate students from 65 countries around the world. It has 1,560 teachers (17% of whom are professors and 56% are associate professors).

The university's library has a collection of nearly 2 million books. Students are provided with textbooks, abstracts, textbooks, lecture notes and other books for various subjects, a variety of reference books in Russian and foreign languages, scientific and literary books, as well as periodicals in Russian and many foreign languages. Each student can read from a seat in one of the library's eight reading rooms. In the transcription room, students can freely use encyclopedias, special dictionaries, reference books, etc. in various languages. The library also has more than 5,000 copies of the defense passed.
