When we express dissatisfaction with the regulations of some "relevant units", they often use "in line with international standards" and "international practice" to perfunctory us.
So, what does it mean to be "in line with international standards"? Why is "international practice" always mentioned? Most people are confused about this question. And the attitude of *** is very clear: why should China's affairs be acted according to foreign regulations?
Foreign countries need to learn to be in line with China!
On the occasion of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the chairman of the People's Republic of China broke the "international convention" at the founding ceremony and rejected the proposal to fire a 21-gun salute, but chose to fire a 28-gun salute.
This move is not only a respect for the Chinese people and their insistence on themselves, but also demonstrates the independence and self-confidence of the Chinese people. This spirit of daring to challenge and subvert the order and rules of the old world has enabled foreigners not only to re-understand China, but also to learn how to "integrate with China".
** The chairman's leadership style and decision-making have laid a solid foundation for the development of New China. In the Chinese people's own festivals, how many cannons to use and how many salutes to fire, the Chinese people can of course decide according to their own wishes!
In 1956, ** was preparing to meet with Indonesia ** Sukarno at the Qinzheng Hall in Zhongnanhai, and **suggested that *** change to a pair of black leather shoes. ** said, "Chinese have Chinese habits, why do they follow the conventions of foreigners?" ”
In 1957, ** attended the 20th Congress of the CPSU, and on that occasion, he wore a black tunic specially prepared for him by the foreign affairs department. But after returning from the Soviet Union, ** no longer wanted to wear a black tunic, he said: "I don't like to wear black, it's too dull." ”
Soon after, ** will receive a visiting foreign leader, and before the official meeting, the comrades of the ** protocol department will send *** a black tunic suit.
Seeing the black tunics, ** said dissatisfiedly: "Why do you have to listen to foreigners?" I am Chinese, so I have to dress according to the habits of Chinese. * pointed to the black tunic and said, "Whoever likes to wear it, I don't wear it anyway!" ”
At the insistence of ***, the guards could only find a set of gray tunics for *** to change into. Although it is only a small and trivial matter in some details, but in the major and important matters related to national interests and national dignity, the sense of independence is stronger.
On April 20, 1949, the British frigate "Purple Quartz" ignored the ban of the People's Liberation Army and trespassed into the forbidden area of the Yangtze River. The artillery of our People's Liberation Army made a decisive move, and the "Purple Quartz" was hit by more than 30 bullets, and the captain of the ship, Skinler, was killed, and finally hung a white flag.
Hearing the news, ** said excitedly: "No matter if you are British or American, as long as you are in China, you have to obey the rules of China, this is a natural thing!" ”
** The British, who used cannons to make their heads bow, not only obeyed China's rules, but also took the initiative to extend an olive branch to China later. On January 6, 1950, Britain officially announced its recognition of the People's Republic of China, making it the first country in the Western world to recognize the People's Republic of China.
Revolutionary Leader *** Chairman, for the rules set by China, the Western powers were not willing to accept it at first. Taking the Korean War as an example, at the beginning of the war, a red line was set for the United States: if the American team crossed the "38th parallel", China would send troops.
The arrogant Americans, who brazenly crossed the "38th parallel" and broke the red line set by China, did not heed the warnings against China. In the end, the Americans paid an unprecedented price, but were beaten back to the "38th parallel" by the Chinese People's Volunteers.
It was only then that Americans realized that the red line was the rule set by China. In the Vietnam War that followed, we could see the progress of the United States: the Americans seemed to have learned to be in tune with China.
This is because, at the beginning of the Vietnam War, China set a red line for the United States - the 17th parallel. China has warned the United States that if American planes cross the 17th parallel, China will send troops into the war.
This time, the U.S. Air Force resolutely adhered to the rules set by China, and until the end of the Vietnam War, the U.S. Air Force never dared to cross the 17th parallel. In terms of abiding by China's conventions and integrating with China, Nixon, the 36th president of the United States, can be called a "model".
On February 21, 1972, Nixon of the United States visited China for the first time, and at 2:50 p.m., Kissinger was suddenly informed: "I want to meet Nixon."
See the first to live in Diaoyutai and take the red flag car", these are the three major wishes of many foreign dignitaries to visit China, and Nixon is no exception. After arriving in Beijing on the "Air Force One" plane, Nixon got into a Hongqi sedan and stayed at the "Diaoyutai State Guesthouse," easily fulfilling two of the "three wishes."
However, when the third wish was about to be fulfilled, Nixon was not so happy. In accordance with "international practice", meetings between heads of state are generally notified in advance, and will not be "given at short notice" as is the case now.
Nixon was the head of state of a superpower. To see or not to see? Nixon hesitated there. At this time, Kissinger reminded on the side: "As far as I know, this is *** practice." ”
Kissinger went on to say: "I have to say this, if you miss this one, you may lose the opportunity to see ***......."Nixon could only put down the "shelf" and hurried to the meeting place.
According to "international practice", the meeting between the heads of state was very "formal", but *** met Nixon in his study (and bedroom) and talked with Nixon about "philosophical issues" for more than an hour.
In fact, since August 1966, almost all of the foreign guests have been received in his study. On August 1, 1958, he met Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev by the swimming pool, and at that time, he was wearing a bathrobe and Khrushchev was dressed in a formal suit.
Is there a precedent in the world for meeting foreign dignitaries in the study and swimming pool, especially with the head of state of a "superpower" like Nixon? I can responsibly say that there is no one else in this world except ***.
What is surprising is that after the meeting, Nixon not only did not have any more scruples about this matter, but instead talked about that unique meeting with great relish.
In his memoirs, Kissinger wrote: "There was no ceremony at the reception. The furnishings in the rooms are as simple and unpretentious as the exterior of the house. There he stood smiling and staring at the visitor, his eyes sharp and slightly mocking, and it was in vain to deceive him. ”
He was in complete control of the course of the talks, and he exuded an overpowering force. This is the chairman who does not stick to "international conventions", and his "eclecticism" is not only reflected in dressing, wearing shoes and receiving foreign guests.
**The President's great manhood lies in his determination to break with the old world and build a new one. He believed that in order to achieve that goal, it would not be possible to stick to international conventions.
He not only taught the imperialist countries a lesson with tough methods, but also guided them to understand China's uniqueness and value with philosophical ideas. However, in recent years, under the banner of "being in line with international standards", some people have pointed fingers at China's political system and national governance strategies, and even attempted to completely Westernize.
These people deny China's basic system, ideology, and excellent traditional culture, and some even use this pretext to deceive and amass wealth to the detriment of others and benefit themselves. However, the real integration with international standards is not blind imitation, but learning from the excellent experience of other countries to develop and innovate their own path.
We should adhere to the people-centered development philosophy, continue to deepen reform, promote social progress, and let the Chinese people live a better life.
Some people use "in line with international standards" as a pretext to only pick and promote things that are beneficial to them, and shirk things that are unfavorable on the grounds of "Chinese characteristics". However, "connecting with international standards" is not an application without borders, still less can it be used as an excuse to deny the interests of our country's system, culture and people.
We should be vigilant in this and prevent some people from taking advantage of this to seek illegitimate benefits.
