It is definitely not so easy to suppress Sun Wukong, otherwise, the Jade Emperor would have taken action in person, or so many bigwigs in the heavenly court would have been fighting for action a long time ago. So, what kind of price will be paid after suppressing Sun Wukong? I can only say that the price may be quite large, and the Buddha will pass away. There are a few details that we can take a look at.
Detail 1: Suo Luo Shuanglin
When the Buddha returned to Lingshan from Heaven, many people came to greet him.
The three thousand Buddhas, the five hundred Aluo, the eight King Kongs, and the boundless Bodhisattvas, all of them are clinging to the banner and treasure cover, and the strange treasure fairy flowers are arranged in the fairy land of Lingshan Mountain, and they are greeted under the Shuanglin of Suoluo. This should be considered very normal, after all, the leader comes back from a long trip, and it is normal for you to go out as a subordinate to greet you, and the key is that the place where you greet is a little wrong. What is the place of Sara Shuanglin? Anyone who has read a little Buddhist book should know that this place is the place where the Buddha passed away. It's a bit too much for you to meet the Buddha at the place where he died, and of course you could say it's a coincidence. So let's move on to it.
Detail 2: What was said
Since his subordinates have come to greet him, he must say two words, so what are you talking about?
I have contemplated the Three Realms with a deep Prajna. The fundamental primordial is extinguished after all. Like the void, there is nothing. Ambushing a good monkey is a matter of ignorance, the beginning of life and death, and the law is the same.In fact, there is a source for this passage, and we can look at the fundamental source, after all, it is destroyed. This passage is from the Great Nirvana Sutra. So what is the main content of this sutra? It is a record of some of the words spoken by the Buddha before Nirvana. Then the question arises, greet the Buddha at the place where he passed away, and then he said the contents of the Great Nirvana Sutra. So with such a coincidence, can it be said that the Buddha thought that he was about to die?
Detail 3: Vision
If the above two are just coincidences, then the following incident is definitely not a coincidence, because some visions immediately appeared.
Put the light of relics, there are forty-two white rainbows in the sky, and the north and south are connected. This so-called relic light, I believe what it is, everyone should know. Only after the death of a Buddhist monk will there be a relic. So, does releasing the light of relics mean that the Buddha has passed away? This is almost a 90% chance.
And there is another paragraph below, that is, there are 42 white rainbows. This thing is also recorded in the history books, and only when the great sages of the West are extinguished, will such a situation occur. Do you think that at this time, there is such a description, is it already made clear that the Buddha has passed away, but it is just that considering the ability of Buddhists to bear it, the author did not directly write about this matter.
On the whole, Rulai has indeed passed away
So on the whole, after the Buddha suppressed Sun Wukong, he did pass away once. As for why he passed away and can continue to exist, this involves some magical powers in Buddhism. In Buddhism, no matter what sect it is, there is a kind of reincarnation in it. Do you remember the sequel to Journey to the West? Didn't the Buddha still be reincarnated once and come back to continue to be a Buddha? Some say it's too short.
Let me tell you that in this life, the grass grows for a while, floats for a moment, and also experiences birth, old age, sickness and death. Therefore, the length of time does not explain the problem, and it can even be said that in the blink of an eye, a person may have experienced a hundred thousand reincarnations. Then, it makes sense that the Buddha passed away once and came back immediately, at least in the Buddhist narrative.
