Today, we photographed 100 Chinese women who don t want to pretend .

What should a woman look like?

And who defines what a woman looks like?

With this question in mind, I looked up and saw 100 women.

Some are gentle, some are warm, some are strong, and some are brave. Some dazzling adjectives fit them, and the words do not all point to the beauty of the world, but they are real enough to shock the eyes and hearts.

100 women are frozen in **, and behind each **, there are real memories of more than two people.

On the day Wang Pu lifted the camera, he brought home a dog.

She always wanted to have a pet, but her parents were strict, and it was not until she became an adult that she was able to take her pet home, "When I grow up, they can't take care of me anymore."

Wang Pu is a native of Chaoshan. In Chaoshan dialect, "dog" and "nine" have the same sound, and Wang Pu's father named the puppy "two, three, four" - which adds up to "nine".

In order to record the growth of two, three and four, Wang Pu bought a camera. Life thus opens a window called warmth.

In 2023, Wang Pu, as a kindergarten teacher, was transferred to a new kindergarten and faced a group of two- and three-year-old children.

The work of a kindergarten teacher is not as easy as it seems to outsiders. Children at this age have not yet developed a sense of rules, "they will only shout 'I want mommy'." "Wang Pu is often tormented by children to the point of headaches.

One day, after lunch, Wang Pu called the children to take a nap. One of the girls in the class ignored her words and lay on her own stomach on the table. Wang Pu looked back, the light was sprinkled on the table, and the girl was lying in the light and shadow, at that moment, Wang Pu's heart was gently knocked: "I think she is so beautiful and cute."

Wang Pu quickly picked up his mobile phone and recorded this scene.

This ** has been widely circulated on the Internet, and it also made Wang Pu realize that mobile phone shooting has an advantage that cameras can't achieve - recording life anytime and anywhere. After all, many dazzling lights in life are fleeting.

Now, Wang Pu defines herself as a "mobile phone photographer" on social platforms, and her lens has begun to focus on everyone around her: the children who are carried by their fathers on their shoulders, the vendors who set up stalls on rainy nights, and her aging parents.

She said that as she got older and experienced the loss of someone around her, she understood the importance of documenting it.

The little girl photographed by Wang Pu Because of the shooting, the relationship between Yan Jialin and her parents has also changed.

Yan Jialin grew up in Fuzhou, an area with a strong sense of family. She once described herself as "receiving traditional Chinese culture since childhood", and in the small society of the family, she is also a junior who is accustomed to listening.

When she was in junior high school, she bought a pop culture magazine at the newsstand in front of the school, and the work of a photographer in the magazine made her interested in photography. Since then, the camera at home has become a regular in her hands.

In 2021, she became an art creator. This year, for the first time, she focused on the family and took images of her grandmother's house.

She named her work "Dark Surge", and in the first version of the film, she processed the portraits of her family members in the old ** into the form of shadows and pasted them into the current scene**, like a reunion with her deceased relatives.

Yan Jialin said that this was originally about self-remembrance.

Until her mother saw this group of ** and suddenly cried. "At that moment, I realized that my family work should not only be about myself, but also about my mother. ”

Yan Jialin realized that before her mother became a mother, she was also a daughter, an older sister, and a complete self.

When I was creating, I needed to think about 'empathy', photographing family members, not just treating them as family, but each individual person in the family. ”

Yan Jialin's photographs of his mother have become a bridge between Yan Jialin and his family, as well as a way to dialogue with the world.

Since 2020, Yan Jialin and his friends have established the women's photography promotion platform "Look in the Mirror", which is committed to providing communication and learning help for female photographers.

Different growth environments and social contexts grow different eyes, and to a certain extent, the lens is a projection of the photographer's own heart. For a long time, the voice of female photographers was generally much weaker than that of the other gender.

Yan Jialin wants to see different perspectives, and he wants to be with the girls**, why do these "differences" come about.

The girl photographed by Yan Jialin was in the second year of Yan Jialin's initiation of "looking in the mirror", and Lan Fafa, a girl from Shaanxi, also picked up the camera.

In 2021, Lanfa quit his original job and switched to photography, "I seem to have a little interest in photography, and photography is a freelance profession, and I want to see if I can earn a little income." ”

At the beginning, Lan Fa sent low-cost photos to others, and she summed up this time as "to survive". At that time, some clients would ask her to "take a better picture" of herself. But there are too many photos of the same formula, and Lan Fafa always feels that there are shortcomings in his heart.

In order to guide the subjects to better open themselves, Lan Fafa would chat with them first, and in the process, she saw all kinds of life. Those seemingly ordinary girls, but the life they experience is like a magnificent river.

So, Lan Fafa decided to use the camera to record those real, ordinary, and moving faces.

Life itself is art, just using photography as a technical means to express your understanding of the world. When asked whether the shooting style tends to be realistic or artistic, Lan Fafa replied: "Ordinary people are very advanced, and they are very vigorous. ”

Girls photographed by Lan Fa Fa In 2023, Lan Fa launched a project to "take portraits of 100 girls".

Reflecting on the original purpose of the project, Lan Fafa said: "Most of the women I have met have taken on many roles in society, but they are generally not confident. I just wanted to take portraits of women of different ages, without makeup or retouching, to convey a real, feminine beauty. ”

In that shoot, she asked the girls to talk to themselves in front of the camera and express themselves to their heart's content. Through the camera, Lan Fafa saw that some people were crying, some were laughing, and some were screaming hysterically.

Then, the girls said to Lan Fafa, "Thank you for opening me up to a whole new self." ”

Taken by Lan Fa Fa Fa**.

In the early spring of 2024, Lan Fafa decided to take a picture of his neighbor's grandmother, who is in her 70s.

Grandma is deaf and mute, and Lan Fafa can't remember her name anymore. Grandma has no friends, and her wife has passed away, and in Lan Fafa's memory, every time she is mentioned, the villagers will use a tacit word: mute.

Grandma also only has one **, which is a black and white ID photo.

This is not the first time Lan Fafa has taken pictures of his grandmother.

In 2022, Lanfa came up with the idea of taking pictures of the elderly in rural areas. She grew up in rural Shaanxi, where the old people rarely have the opportunity to take pictures, and some people only have one ** in their lives, which is a posthumous photo.

Lan Fafa started with the old man in his village and gave it.

Seventy or eighty old people took a photo, and the neighbor's grandmother was one of them.

Lan Fafa walked into her grandmother's house, held up the camera in her hand, and gestured to her grandmother. Perhaps because few people stop at her house, Grandma was very happy about Lan Fafa's visit.

She stood in front of the curtain that Lan Fafa had set up in her yard, and cooperated with Lan Fafa to pose for a photo. Orchid hair folded a flower and caught it in her ear, and she laughed shyly.

That day, Lan Fafa was still in the brick gap in the yard when he stumbled upon a cigarette pouch left by his deceased grandfather. She put the cigarette pouch in her grandmother's hand, and then she saw that there was a sudden hint of sadness in those eyes, which had been full of shyness and joy.

Grandpa passed away and (except this pouch) there was nothing left. Maybe grandma won't leave anything for the rest of her life, all I can do is take a few pictures of her like this.

Lan Fa Fa photographed the neighbor's grandmother This time, Lan Fa Fa wanted to use his mobile phone to shoot several groups of women of different ages ** as a prelude to Women's Day.

In Lan Fafa's view, women of every age have their different tensions. Children are innocent, young women have unique vitality, middle-aged people have a sense of story precipitated over the years, and the elderly have the innocence of children. Life is like a cycle.

Lan Fafa walked to the neighbor's grandmother's house again and waved the mobile phone in his hand at her.

Without her saying anything, Grandma ran into the house, combed her hair, and took out her red scarf. She gestured to Lan Fafa and asked her if she looked good. Lan Fafa smiled at her, and when grandma saw it, she also raised a smile.

Lan Fafa picked up his phone and quickly captured the scene.

Lan Fafa's neighbor grandmother Wang Pu has the same idea as Lan Fafa. As a female photographer, she is used to capturing the warmth of life, and Wang Pu has always wanted to shoot ** that can truly show femininity.

By chance, Wang Pu met a 90-year-old grandmother on the street, and she said to her: "Your white hair is so beautiful." After hearing her grandmother's response, Wang Pu asked again, can you take a group of ** for her, and grandma readily agreed.

Normally, the elderly may say, 'I'm too old to look good,' but when they are complimented, they are happy. Wang Pu said. At 90 years old, she is indeed no longer young, but her gray hair shines in the sun, which is incomparable.

The old man photographed by Wang Pu is in a folk theater troupe, and Wang Pu also experienced the same opening line.

It was a small field, and it was made of wooden planks to make a simple stage. Most of the actors in the troupe are middle-aged women, and they have to start dressing up at three or four o'clock in the morning, and when Wang Pu saw them, it was already ** o'clock in the evening.

She greeted the waiting actors: "Sister, you look good." The actors pulled her backstage, held her hand, and asked her what she was doing. Wang Pu took the opportunity to express his request to shoot them, and the sisters shirked it and agreed.

The sisters also took the initiative to ask Wang Pu: "Do you want to film us changing clothes, or do you want me to make any gestures?" ”

In this way, Wang Pu's mobile phone stored more than ten moments from waiting to performing. At every moment, their eyes were clear, and their firm strength was mixed in.

On the eve of Women's Day, a middle-aged drama actor filmed by Wang Pu, Yan Jialin wanted to photograph some diverse girls to explore the possibilities of different faces.

She found friends around her and told them that the ** of this shooting needs to be straight out of the original film, and unexpectedly, she got an almost unanimous answer: It's okay, no post-production.

This kind of honesty and enthusiasm made Yan Jialin feel the empathy and trust between girls and girls again.

After deciding on the subject, Yan Jialin's shooting plan was in full swing. On the first day, she went to scout the location, borrowed equipment, and returned to her mother's house after a busy day.

Yan Jialin's mother has retired, and she has arranged her retirement life to the fullest, and she has also enrolled herself in a course at the University for the Elderly.

On weekdays, my mother likes to collect ceramic cups, and often sits on a chair in the bedroom to drink tea or look at her mobile phone.

This kind of life is faithfully frozen in Yan Jialin's mobile phone lens. This is also the first group of ** filmed by Yan Jialin in this conception.

*, the mother sits on a small sofa in the bedroom, holding her favorite coffee cup, she sniffs the flowers in front of her, or plays the piano quietly. Sometimes the two will look at each other through the lens, and just by looking at **, they feel each other's pulse and warmth.

And this is also Yan Jialin's most familiar and real mother's appearance.

Yan Jialin's mother.

There is a saying that memories need a medium, and this is the meaning of **.

The times are developing, and the requirements for ** are also changing. A few years ago, the girl who asked Wang Pu to shoot would ask her to retouch her face to look good, and then "sugar water tablets" became popular, and the filter piled up a dreamy beauty, and now, more and more people ask her to record the real picture.

The record itself is precious, and the real ** is even more precious. Wang Pu said.

Behind every real **, there is a real memory. Under Wang Pu's lens, there are many children she is coaching. **, there are children laughing, and there are children who will cry noisily. A few years later, when these children see these ** again, they will automatically think of why they laugh and why they cry.

Even if the tentacles of memory are missing, ** will help people remember.

Wang Pu's children and mothers photographed In 2023, after the release of Xiaomi 13ultra, many photographers around Wang Pu will use this mobile phone as the main camera for shooting.

Prior to this, Xiaomi announced that it had reached a strategic cooperation with Leica on imaging, Lei Jun said: "Imaging is the integration of technology and aesthetics, and we are standing at the crossroads of technology and humanity. Wang Pu thinks so.

Compared with excessive rendering and distorted beauty, documentary footage can move people's hearts more.

In 2024, Xiaomi will release 14Ultra, and Wang Pu will once again become an experiencer. After using it, Wang Pu believes that this upgrade fills the previous gap in portrait processing, like a pair of soft eyes, telling the story more movingly.

Wang Pu's photo of the girl Lan Fafa prefers the Xiaomi Mi 14 Ultra's speed of capturing the frame.

What's more, the lightness of the mobile phone not only allows the photographer to capture the desired picture at any time, but also the ubiquity of the mobile phone in life, which can reduce the guardiness of the person being photographed, and the portrait will be more natural. "If it's professional equipment and flashing lights, people will feel that this thing is very formal, and they will be nervous unconsciously. ”

During this shooting, what made Lan Fafa remember the most was a girl with short hair.

Lan Fafa saw the girl's ** in her friend's mobile phone, and the confidence shown by the girl deeply touched Lan Fafa. She asked her friend to help deliver the message, and the other party readily agreed.

When shooting, Lan Fafa raised his mobile phone, without adjusting the parameters, and quickly captured the moment of being moved. Lan Fafa said: "She is what she is. ”

In this shooting, Yan Jialin found 11 girls and focused the camera on the hobbies and lives of these girls. Among them, some are gentle, some are free, some are flamboyant, some are subtle, and more importantly, they are real.

One of the girls, Sue, is the owner of a restaurant, and Yan Jialin is friends in reality. Sue has a scar on her arm, and she tells Yan Jialin that she was burned while helping in the back kitchen.

When mentioning this scar, Sue's tone is very casual, she does not dodge the camera that focuses on the scar, and Yan Jialin describes her as "without any burden".

Yan Jialin said that authenticity is a scarce attribute in today's society.

To be true is to be honest with others, but also to be honest with yourself. It takes more courage to get closer to the truth than to go to perfection.

On the occasion of SUE Women's Day photographed by Yan Jialin, Xiaomi found 10 female photographers and asked them to use Xiaomi 14ultra to freeze the faces of 100 calm and diverse, real women.

Among the 100 sheets, some people are introverted, some are profound, some people live happily, and some people laugh wantonly.

Perhaps, their skeletons are not slender, and their complexions are not all white and tender. But they danced in their respective worlds, lived sincerely and hard, and the vigorous vitality that made those close to their souls tremble.

What photographer Su Xingzi shot and matched with the sincere eyes of these women is the Xiaomi Mi 14ultra's grasp of reality.

In this era when AI algorithms are popular and filters are blurred, Xiaomi has always insisted on exploring reality. Technology should serve people's hearts, which is also Xiaomi's long-standing proposition.

Not over-calculated, not over-sharpened, and not overly bright, Xiaomi 14 Ultra firmly believes that with layers of delicate truth, it is enough to impress people's hearts.

Photographer Evan may ask what the truth is. In fact, this question was also thrown to the photographers who participated in the event.

Wang Pu said that truth is a kind of preciousness. Lan Fafa said that truth can stand the weight of time.

Yan Jialin believes that "authenticity" not only represents the appearance of the truth, but also the honest state of a person facing the camera - being honest with himself and the world.

Millet told everyone that the truth is that every girl does not necessarily have to grow into a rose, she can be a lily, an oak tree, or even a wild grass.

I wish every girl to be real, and I wish every life to shine for the truth.
