In the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu depicts the characteristics and functions of the Tao in profound and concise words. Among them, "the face of Confucius, only the way is followed." The Tao is a thing, but it is in a trance. In a trance, there is an elephant in it; In a trance, there is something in it; Slim and dark, there is essence in it; Its essence is very true, and there are sentences such as "faith", which shows us a vague and true, deep and universal world of "Tao".
The face of Confucius, but the way is to follow. This quote reminds us that true morality or character, at its core, follows the Tao. "Comte" here is not simply good or virtuous, but refers to a noble quality that transcends the mundane and conforms to the laws of nature. The manifestations of this quality may be ever-changing, but its core always revolves around the trajectory of the "Tao".
The Tao is a thing, but it is in a trance. In Lao Tzu's view, the Tao is not a clear and fixed entity, but a trance and elusive. This property makes the Tao both transcend our senses and connect with our lives. It is precisely because of its trance that it is more difficult for us to describe it accurately in words, and we can only use words such as "image", "object", and "essence" to try to capture some aspects of its characteristics.
In a trance, there is an elephant in it; In a trance, there is something in it; Although the Tao may seem trance-like, it contains images and objects. The "images" and "things" here do not refer to concrete and perceptible things, but to certain characteristics and laws displayed by the "Tao". Although these characteristics and laws are difficult to express in words, we can gradually understand and experience them through observation and practice.
Slim and dark, there is essence in it; Its essence is true, and in it is faith. In the depths of the Tao, there is a hidden essence or essence. This essence is very real, and there is a strong belief or principle in it. This belief or principle is the foundation of what makes the Tao the Tao the Tao and the cornerstone for us to understand and follow the Tao.
From now upon time, its name has not gone to read the public. From ancient times to the present, the existence and influence of the Tao have remained the same and have not disappeared. It fulfills its role by observing or instructing numerous beginnings. The "zhongfu" here can be understood as the beginning of all things or the beginning of many things. Under the guidance of the Tao, all things are generated and developed, showing their own characteristics and laws.
Finally, "How do I know what is going on?" In this way. "How do we know the beginning or form of many things? The answer is through the guidance and insight of the Tao. Only by deeply understanding and practicing the principles and spirit of the Tao can we truly understand the nature and form of all things, so that we can make decisions and actions in our lives that are in line with the laws of nature and moral norms.
