Thai authorities said former Prime Minister Alex Taksson, who is currently on parole, may be allowed to visit his hometown of Chiang Mai for a short time.

Thailand's "Bangkok Post" reported that it was previously reported that Darshin's daughter Petuntan revealed that Taksin may go to Chiang Mai to pay respects to his ancestors and sweep the tombs. Montree Bunyayothin, deputy director of the probation department of the Ministry of Justice of Thailand, responded on Wednesday (March 6) that as a guarantor of Marsh, Petuntan can submit a formal application to the probation department to request to travel to Chiang Mai in the name of Marsh.

According to the regulations, the exact reason for Marsh's visit to Chiang Mai must be stated in the application documents. If it's a short-term trip that boosts Marsh's mental and physical health, Monterey said, the request should be granted. This should be treated as a temporary change of residence and will require advance notice to the probation officer.

When Marsh returned to his home in Bangkok after being released on parole in February, the Probation Bureau sent officers to visit him and told him that he should not leave Bangkok during his parole unless there was an emergency.

Monterey did not say whether Marsh or Petontan had submitted travel requests, saying they needed to be kept confidential.

On the other hand, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Anutin declined to say whether his visit would coincide with Taksin's visit to Chiang Mai.
