Veteran of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea - Li Phucchin
Xu Ping. Veteran party member Le Phuc Kim is an admirable fighter. He lived in Group 1, Shiziliang Village, Xiabamiao Town, Enyang District, Bazhong City, was born in March 1933 and joined the army in 1949. During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, he served as a platoon commander and the chief shooter of heavy machine guns, and after the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, he joined the Northeast Army to participate in the construction of Northeast China, and made great contributions to the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the construction of the motherland.
Although Li Lao is said to be old, his body is still quite tough. He has a white sheep's beard, and his kind smile reflects the bright sun, and he looks particularly energetic. When the leader visited him, he was so moved that he couldn't speak, and he danced and told us about the things on the battlefield.
When he was in his teens, he joined the insurrectionary army in Zhongjiang County and studied for nearly a year. In the winter of the second year, the weather was extremely cold that day, and his unit received an order to go to the Korean War of Resistance. The first hurdle into the Korean battlefield was through the Yalu River, and at this time the machine gun team and air force of the US army fiercely obstructed them. Bullets flew around him, planes bombarded from the sky, and he and his soldiers crawled on the wooden bridge with heavy loads. Suddenly, an "ah" sound was heard, and several of the fighters were wounded and fell into the river, where they were swept away. But Lao Li said that they were not afraid, but strengthened their confidence - they must rush over and win the first level. Speaking of this, he became more and more excited, as if he had returned to the scene of the year, and the courage of the year made him still enthusiastic now.
Later, he talked about one of the things that impressed him the most during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. The unit he was in at that time belonged to the first batch of troops to participate in the war, and he maintained a fairly high level of vigilance against the US military at that time. Because the U.S. military is heavily equipped and often bombed by aircraft, they need to dig pits in the ground, dig trenches and squat inside, and cover them with turf and sand to avoid being discovered by the enemy. As the heavy machine gun shooter of the unit, he is mainly responsible for shooting, while the other soldier is mainly responsible for assembling the machine gun with bullets, he said that he has to carry this big guy of more than 70 pounds almost every day for running and sprinting. Comrade Mao Anying was also in his unit at that time, and Li Lao had only heard his name and knew that he was the correspondent at that time. It was in that battle that Comrade Mao Anying unfortunately died. Hearing the bad news, Li Lao said that he was even more determined to win the battle. So those days were unforgettable memories, almost every day had to fight, and when it was dark the enemy would also sneak attack, no matter day and night, I didn't dare to sleep well. They took turns to stand guard, and even if someone stood guard, the soldiers only squinted for a moment and then cheered up. When he was fighting, he was responsible for using a heavy machine gun to cover up, even if the bullets "whizzed" past him, even if the bullets hit the front steel plate of the machine gun with flames, he did not have the slightest intention of retreating, but a wave of anger ignited in his heart: "Hateful Yankee, I must kill you all!" Suddenly, a bullet broke the ear of the comrade in charge of loading the bullet, the comrade groaned in pain and covered his ear, blood flowed all over the sleeves, Li Lao wrapped him with strips of cloth, grabbed the machine gun and fired again.
Li Lao's eyes seemed to show the scenes of fierce battles back then.
As he spoke, Li Lao suddenly looked at us and said, "Back then, on the battlefield, I didn't know how many days I could live, how could I think of today's good days!" ”
Yes, they fought for peace, and on the battlefield to resist US aggression and aid Korea, they composed peaceful and tragic songs with their blood and lives!
The great spirit of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea is the precious wealth of the Chinese people and will surely forever be recorded in the annals of history!
