As a woman in the new era, Lu Wei hopes that she can do something meaningful, she has been actively participating in community women's volunteer service activities, and officially joined the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team on March 6, 2013. She is currently the deputy director of the Women's Working Committee of the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team, responsible for the logistics work such as collecting and sorting out information in the secretarial group, and serving as the leader of the driver's squad, responsible for managing vehicle-related matters. Since joining the team, he has participated in 381 activities such as mountain rescue, water rescue, search for lost and support, and sanitized 162 epidemics. She participated in large-scale volunteer service rescue activities, including the new crown epidemic sanitizing, Henan "7·20" rainstorm rescue, and Fangshan "23·7" flood relief.

In 2016, two out-of-town students in their teens drowned. After receiving the message for help, Lu Wei and his teammates quickly rushed to the front and drove the assault boat into the water to search. Due to the late day, the search and rescue work was very difficult. She and several female team members were responsible for the logistics such as anchor hooks, and assisted the male team members to search over and over again near the water drop point under the dim light, and no one thought of giving up, and they all tried to do what they could. At about 3 o'clock in the evening, the students' families rushed to the scene, and the scene was full of sad atmosphere. Two young lives, but they withered in the season that should have bloomed. Until the next morning, the two drowning victims were rescued one after another. For the team members, salvaging the bodies and burying them in the ground is the greatest respect for the deceased and a comfort to the relatives of the deceased.

At the beginning of 2020, there was a national outbreak of the new crown, and everyone was in a state of tension, and this epidemic was much more serious than the SARS epidemic in 2003. The captain immediately decided to purchase more than 10 mist sanitize machines to sanitize for the communities and villages in Fangshan District for free. At that time, only more than a dozen team members were gathered, and Lu Wei and her husband also became one of them. I set off before dawn every day, and I didn't get home when it got dark, and I needed to sanitize dozens of places a day. A gun filled with water is about 100 catties, and the team members shuttle through every corner of Fangshan with guns on their backs, so tired that they don't even want to eat when they go home. At that time, there was a shortage of protective equipment, and a mask could be worn for three days. Lu Wei and his team members have traveled to communities where cases are suspected and villages where cases have been confirmed. It was a torturous time and I was scared, but there were some things that someone had to do. Later, the captain felt sorry for her and the team members, and in order to increase work efficiency, he purchased 2 large fog machines and put them behind the pickup truck, so that they only need to drive the car to sanitize, but it is only limited to spacious public places, and narrow streets and corridors still need to carry guns on their backs to sanitize. Three years after the outbreak of the epidemic, Lu Wei and his team members persevered for three years, from a dozen people at the beginning, to hundreds of team members at the end.
On July 31, 2023, there was a sudden rainstorm in Fangshan District, and the rainfall continued to increase, finally leading to flash floods. At that time, Lu Wei was in the field and could not rush to the rescue scene as soon as possible, so he could only be responsible for logistics such as reporting and collecting information. After returning to Beijing on August 2, she rushed to the team as soon as possible and devoted herself to the rescue work. On August 4, she participated in the team's delivery of supplies to the disaster area. Because of the broken road, the car could not drive in, so she and her team members could only carry supplies in the high temperature, and she and a female team member had symptoms of heat stroke on the way, and they quickly found a dilapidated house to rest. Although they carry water in their supplies, they are reluctant to drink it, so that they can get as many of the donated materials as possible to those in need. Eventually, she and her teammates carried the supplies on their backs, walked through the rubble, climbed over the broken bridge, and delivered the supplies inside.
The eldest lady who was guarding the entrance of the village, when she saw her and the team members, said with tears in her eyes, "You are finally here, ** have not forgotten us, we are saved." Hearing this, Lu Wei and the team members were all tired.
