In December last year, Honda Malaysia launched the all-new sixth-generation Honda CR-V, available in four versions: S, E, V, and RS, with a difference of RM14,000 between the petrol V and the gasoline-electric RS**. Let me analyze it for you today.
Price* s 15t 2wd:rm159,900* e 1.5t 2wd:rm169,900* v 1.5t awd:rm181,900* rs e:hev 2.0L 2WD: RM195,900 (without insurance).
Dimensions. V RS length: 4691 4691mm width: 1866 1866mm height: 1691 1681mm wheelbase: 2700 2701mm weight: 1668 1735kg ground clearance: 208 198mm fuel tank: 57L 57L
The most noticeable difference in size between the V and RS is the ride height, with the V having 10 mm higher height and ground clearance than the RS, while the wheelbase differs only slightly by 1 mm.
Since the RS is a petrol-electric model with a battery pack on board, it weighs 67kg more than the V. It is worth mentioning that the battery pack of the gasoline-electric version of the RS is hidden under the rear seat, so it will not affect the fuel tank capacity, and it is the same as the V 57L, and the trunk space is the same as 589L, but the RS has a spare tire.
Appearance. The V and RS also come standard with LED head and tail light clusters, automatic sensor automatic headlights, LED flow turn signals, LED combination tail light clusters, electric tailgate (including Walkaway Close), 18-inch wheels, and Toyota Proxes R45 tires (235 60R18), where the V is a dual exhaust pipe and the RS is a single exhaust pipe on the right.
The most obvious difference between the two is that the RS has a Sport Package, which is the same colour as the entire car, with black wheels, mirror covers, and shark fin antennas for a more premium look, as well as a roof rack.
RS has also been upgraded with the Active Shutter Grille feature, which automatically opens and closes the grille to adjust the cooling airflow based on vehicle speed, engine temperature and cooling needs. Active Cornering Lights and Adaptive Driving Beam have also been added to the headlight clusters to improve night visibility and reduce glare from oncoming vehicles.
Interior. The interior of the V and RS is much the same, with the V featuring wood grain trim, a beige roof, and white stitching. The RS, on the other hand, has a metal trim with a black roof and red stitching.
Both come standard with leather seats, leather steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, memory seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear seat air vents, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, 9-inch central display, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic wipers, electronic parking brake, Active Noise Control, and Honda Connect.
The V is a 7-inch TFT semi-digital instrument cluster, while only the RS has been upgraded to 102-inch TFT fully digital instrument cluster, Key Card, Bose audio system (12 speakers), head-up display (HUD), double-glazed windows, SPORT driving mode, Active Sound Control.
