At the beginning of 1950, a septuagenarian in Shaoshan, Hunan, after wandering at home for a long time, put on his glasses, sat down at his desk, and wrote a letter to the great ***.
But unlike ordinary people, his faith is not for himself, but for his old friend Xie Zifan. In the letter, he told Xie Zifan, who had saved the chairman's life back then, that his life was very difficult now, and he hoped that the chairman could remember the old friendship and personally ask him about his life.
The old man also wrote to *** twice in a row, reminding the chairman not to forget this life-saving benefactor. So, how did Xie Zifan save the chairman? Who is this old man who wrote to *** three times in a row for the sake of his friend, reminding him not to forget his life-saving benefactor?
During the first KMT-CCP cooperation, ** joined the KMT in his personal capacity and was elected to the KMT power structure. However, such an achievement did not bring him long-term peace, but caused dissatisfaction among some people.
Zhang Guotao and Li Lisan even referred to him as "Hu Hanmin's secretary". Despite the tremendous efforts he made for the revolutionary cause in Shanghai, all this made him physically and mentally exhausted, and even suffered from insomnia.
Yang Kaihui knew the reason and persuaded him to return to his hometown in Shaoshan with his family so that he could recuperate.
1.* Returned to his hometown in Shaoshan with his wife and children after many years of absence, and had a long conversation with his old friend Yang Shunqin all night. Although he returned to his hometown in the name of "recuperation", after returning to Shaoshan, his "illness" immediately became **, and his mood became cheerful.
This time he returned to his hometown, he had planned to carry out agricultural activities for a long time to help the farmers in his hometown get rid of the life of being oppressed by local tyrants and inferior gentry. 2.* Reunited with his old friend Yang Shunqin, the mood was extraordinarily happy.
During his stay in Shaoshan, he chatted with the villagers until late at night, and his mood was greatly relaxed. Although he returned to his hometown in the name of "recuperation", his "illness" was immediately resolved after returning to Shaoshan.
He was determined to take advantage of the opportunity to return to his hometown to carry out agricultural activities and help the peasants in his hometown get rid of poverty and oppression. 3.* He returned to his hometown of Shaoshan with his wife and children.
He met his old friend Yang Shunqin here, and the two chatted late into the night. Although he returned to Shaoshan in the name of "recuperation", his "illness" was immediately resolved after returning to Shaoshan.
This time when he returned to his hometown, he had planned for a long time to carry out a peasant campaign to help the peasants in his hometown get rid of the life of being oppressed by local tyrants and inferior gentry. 4.* He returned to his hometown of Shaoshan with his wife and children and chatted with his old friend Yang Shunqin until late at night.
He decided to take advantage of this opportunity to return to his hometown to carry out a peasant campaign to help the peasants in his hometown get rid of the life of being oppressed by local tyrants and inferior gentry. Although he returned to his hometown in the name of "recuperation", his "illness" was immediately resolved after returning to Shaoshan.
At this time, he decided to launch his program to help the peasants in his hometown gain freedom and dignity.
Flee the famine to beg for food or go to jail. The great drought of 1925 made their lives even worse, and they had no food to eat and had to beg on the streets. However, the landlords and old fortunes in the Shaoshan area took the opportunity to hoard goods and raise prices to make huge profits.
All this deeply touched the first He realized the heavy responsibility on his shoulders, so he led the peasants to fight against the landlords and old wealth, and launched the Shaoshan Agricultural Movement with far-reaching influence in China's modern history.
**After returning to Shaoshan, it was decided that educating the peasants would be the top priority. At the same time that Zhao Hengti, governor of Hunan Province and commander-in-chief of the Hunan Army, was promoting "civilian education", he set up more than 20 peasant night schools in the name of "popularizing civilian education" to teach peasants literacy and abacus, and to carry out Marxist enlightenment education.
At the same time, more than 20 secret agricultural cooperatives were also established, the Shaoshan branch of the Communist Party of China was created, and peasants were mobilized and organized to carry out activities such as preventing grain shipments, stabilizing grain prices, reducing rents, and increasing wages for hired farmers.
During this period, ** often went to Yang Shunqin's home as a guest, and held a meeting in Yangjiazhuang to discuss the development of agricultural activities. Attracted by the revolution, Yang Shunqin took the initiative to join the secret peasant cooperative, becoming a key member of the peasant movement, and her two sons also participated in the revolution.
For the landlord class, the peasant movement they initiated made them feel threatened, and they began to slander the "radical party" and "instigate" the peasants to "rebel" in Shaoshan.
Due to ***'s quick action, the reactionary warlord Zhao Hengti was dissatisfied with *** and ordered the Xiangtan County League Defense Bureau to arrest him immediately. The Shaoshan area was divided into the upper seven capitals and the lower seven capitals, and the arrest task was handed over to Cheng Xusheng, director of the Upper Seven Capital League Defense Bureau.
Although Cheng Xusheng has a small official position, he is an influential authority in Shaoshan and is called"Living Hades"。**When he first returned to Shaoshan, Cheng Xusheng tried to suppress him, but considering that *** might become a big man and not be able to provoke him, he didn't take action.
When the provincial governor personally ordered the arrest of ***, Cheng Xusheng had confidence in his heart. One day in mid-July, Cheng Xusheng asked a member of the regiment to call Xie Zifan over and said to him: "I heard that you know Mao Runzhi, now please bring someone to arrest him immediately." ”
After Xie Zifan heard this, he blinked, indicating that he was a little difficult. Cheng Xusheng's eyes widened and threatened: "If you don't go, you won't want to rent my family's land to plant in the future." ”
Cheng Xusheng's threat immediately took effect, Xie Zifan nodded and agreed: "I'll go!" I'll go! "Have you seen Mao Runzhi? Xie Zifan is not only a tenant farmer of Cheng Xusheng's family, but also a member of the regimental defense bureau.
He, like ***, is a native of Shaoshan. The two of them were born in the same year, 1893, the same age as ***. He is clever and decisive, and was once ***'s neighbor.
At that time, almost all the families in Shaoshan Chong were surnamed Mao, and for Cheng Xusheng, most of the Mao family in Shaoshan Chong were "**". Therefore, letting a person with a foreign surname, Xie Zifan, catch *** is the most suitable choice for him.
Hey, the one on the other side, have you seen Mao Runzhi? ”
**After hearing the movement, he looked back and found that it was Xie Zifan and a few group members, so he pointed to the foot of the mountain in the south and responded loudly: "Are you talking about the person who came back from Shanghai?"
I saw him riding through the foot of the mountain on horseback! Xie Zifan was overjoyed when he heard this, and said to the people around him: "It seems that Mao Runzhi can't escape, let's go!" ”
After that, he led the group to the foot of the mountain in the south. Quickly say goodbye to the villagers around you, and then mingle in the dense woods. Xie Zifan searched at the foot of the mountain for a long time, but found nothing, so he had to return to Cheng Xusheng in despair.
Because he didn't catch ***, Cheng Xu Sheng could only think of another strategy. That shout seemed to change the direction of history, if Xie Zifan listened to Cheng Xusheng's threat to arrest ***, then how would history develop?
Except for *** Xie Zifan and his neighbors at the time, this matter was a secret. Before the liberation, Xie Zifan only told Yang Shunqin, who was a secret peasant cooperative, and did not dare to share it with others until after the founding of New China.
Although many people don't believe it, Yang Shunqin is convinced that Xie Zifan once saved *** He is their mutual friend, and he has a thorough understanding of Xie Zifan's personality, knowing that he sympathizes with the revolution and has participated in the secret agricultural cooperative, and the story he tells to help *** get out of danger is reasonable.
Yang Shunqin, a well-respected and enthusiastic person, is known as "Shun's second grandfather". He was imprisoned during the Revolution, and his two sons died heroically after the defeat of the Revolution.
Despite this, he still cares about the life of his old friend Xie Zifan. Xie Zifan is over sixty years old, and his body is often sick, and his life is very difficult. Yang Shunqin hopes to seek help from ** for him, because he has saved ***
However, Xie Zifan could not find a direct witness who could prove his actions, and Yang Shunqin, as an indirect witness, also faced cautious treatment. In order to help Xie Zifan, Yang Shunqin decided to write a letter to *** asking him to testify about Xie Zifan's heroic deeds.
Despite the difficulties, Yang Shunqin's kindness and determination made him willing to give everything for his old friend.
1.After the founding of the People's Republic of China, ** invited Yang Shunqin to Beijing, but was unable to make the trip due to illness. In order to satisfy Yang Shunqin's interest in medical research, ** specially sent many medical books and living expenses.
However, Yang Shunqin used the money to buy more medical books. 2.Because of keeping in touch with ***, Yang Shunqin decided to write a letter to ask him to prove the fact that Xie Zifan had covered ***'s escape.
One day in early 1950, he sent the letter to the ** Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Chairman of ***. 3.Yang Shunqin made a special note on the envelope with the name of the recipient, and then came to the post office with the letter.
The main content of this letter is to hope that the chairman can take into account the old friendship and help solve the problems of Xie Zifan's life.
During his visit to the Soviet Union, he was unable to reply to a letter about Xie Zifan's life-saving grace in time. So, Yang Shunqin wrote a letter again to remind *** not to forget this kindness.
Soon after, ** replied that there was probably such a thing, and suggested that Xie Zifan should express his gratitude, and that the difficult problem could be solved by discussing with the local **. **The reason why he uses "probably" is because decades have passed since the incident, and he only remembers that he was in distress in Shaoshan and someone rescued him, but he doesn't remember Xie Zifan's rescue very clearly.
In addition, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, there were rumors about the danger of escape, and it was necessary to maintain a cautious attitude towards Xie Zifan's affairs, not blindly believe, nor completely deny.
Therefore, he used the wording "probably".
Yang Shunqin felt a little disappointed after reading ***'s reply, because she thought that ***, as a person who values love and righteousness, should be able to remember and repay those who have helped him, but Xie Zifan seems to have been forgotten by him.
In order to make *** able to remember Xie Zifan's contribution, Yang Shunqin decided to go to the local ** for help. However, the local staff told her that ** did not clearly affirm Xie Zifan's cover-up behavior, and only said that they would negotiate, and did not specify to take care of him.
Despite failing to do so, Yang Shunqin wrote a third letter to ***, describing in detail Xie Zifan's experience of covering him, and attached a poem written by her at the end of the letter, hoping that *** could recall this history.
In this poem, Yang Shunqin cites several allusions to express her expectations and determination.
Jie Zitui and Feng Yi have their own unique stories. Jie Zitui was a famous minister of the Jin State during the Spring and Autumn Period, and he once cut off the meat on his leg for Chong'er stew during his 19-year exile in Chong'er, but after Chong'er ascended the throne, he chose to live in seclusion in Mianshan, ashamed of accepting the reward.
Feng Yi was a general under Liu Xiu, the founding emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, who was humble, and whenever other generals showed off their military exploits, he always chose to hide under the big tree in a low-key manner, so he was respectfully called "General Big Tree".
Although the stories of these two historical figures are different, they all have one thing in common, and that is that they selflessly give for others without expecting anything in return. And this spirit is exactly the personality trait that we need in today's society.
We should all be like Jie Zitui and Feng Yi, giving for others without asking for anything in return. This kind of behavior not only makes us feel happy, but also makes others feel warm.
And *** is such a wise leader. He knows that everyone has their own story and their own contributions. He remembers the kindness he used to cover for others, not only because he remembered them, but also because he knew the value of them.
We should all be like ***, remember the help and dedication we have had, be grateful for the kindness of others, and be willing to pay for others to make the world a better place.
Although Yang Shunqin's poems have some sharp criticisms, her view that people like Xie Zifan, who once had a life-saving grace for *** and were indifferent to fame and fortune like Feng Yi, cannot be ignored or forgotten have not changed.
Although *** did not reply, the issue of Xie Zifan's treatment was solved soon after, and he received a living allowance from the local ** according to the treatment of "revolutionary old man".
Although Yang Shunqin was worried because of her momentary recklessness, what she expected did not happen, and Xie Zifan's problem was properly handled.
On June 25, 1959, ** returned to his hometown in Shaoshan by jeep after 32 years away from his hometown. After talking with Mao Jisheng, secretary of the party committee of Shaoshan Commune, he proposed to invite some relatives and friends to dinner, and identified four objects to be invited: old cousins and cousins, martyrs' military families in Shaoshan Chong, old underground party members, members of the peasant association, and Red Guards.
In the end, they drew up a list of more than 40 people for the banquet, and the cost of the meal was deducted from the personal manuscript fee. The day before the banquet began, ** checked the list repeatedly, for fear of missing anyone.
However, despite his caution, he accidentally missed several people, including Yang Shunqin.
In the early morning of the next day, ** specially asked the driver to drive to the side of the road in front of Yang Linlou to greet Yang Shunqin, the owner of Yang Shunqin's new home, and personally took him to his apartment for a conversation.
After seeing Yang Shunqin, ** was full of enthusiasm, specially asked about the living situation of his family, and said to him with deep concern: "You have to rest well, take care of the elderly, and if you have any difficulties, you can find local ** to help solve them." ”
At noon on the same day, ** invited more than ten relatives and friends such as Yang Shunqin to share lunch. Minister of Public Security*** Wang Renzhong, first secretary of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee, Zhou Xiaozhou, first secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, and others were accompanied by the table next to them.
At the dinner table, the villagers spoke freely and reported to the company the problems they encountered in life and production, and they attached great importance to it and said that they would try their best to solve it.
At the banquet in Shaoshan, ** specially sandwiched a piece of steamed fish for Yang Shunqin, and affectionately called him "Confucian doctor". Yang Shunqin humbly said that he was a "stupid fool", but *** insisted that as a scholar and a person studying medicine, it was very appropriate to call him a "Confucian doctor".
After that, ** also sandwiched a piece of fish for himself, and said with a smile: "Fish is what I want, and 'Confucianism' is also what I want." Although there were a lot of people at the banquet, *** did not be unable to serve the food to the guests opposite because of the distance, he skillfully conveyed his meaning to them, and they immediately began to happily serve their own dishes and enjoy the food.
After the banquet, ** specially proposed to take a photo with everyone. Before taking the photo, he deliberately asked Yang Shunqin to stand next to himself in the middle of the front row to show respect for him.
Soon after, ** left Shaoshan for Changsha. This meeting left a deep impression on Yang Shunqin, and the next day he wrote a letter to his grandson Yang Houchun, who was studying in Hengyang.
In the letter, Yang Shunqin proudly told her grandson that she was fortunate to participate in the "Hometown Elderly Symposium" hosted by *** yesterday, and only those present.
Ten. Five or six people, most of whom are relatives of ***, and only a few are people with foreign surnames.
At luncheon, I had the honour of sitting in the chairman's chair. When the picture was taken, I was the first one to the right of the chairman. For me, it is the honor and ......honor of my life to be so valued by ***”
