McDSP introduces the BOB Bass Optimized Bias APB plug in and a new Low Latency mode

Mondo Technology Updated on 2024-03-07

MCDSP announces the new BOB (Bass Optimized Bias Bias) APB plug-in, which is the same as the original BOB module in the 6060 Ultimate Module series, enhancing low frequencies and providing additional analog processing options.

The controls for all vanilla Bob modules are included in the Bob APB plug-in: The new two-stage analog signal path in the Bob APB plug-in further enhances the original bass-optimized bias with three new controls: gain, trim HR (headroom), and analog modes I and II. The two VU-type tables on the far left and far right of the user interface show the overall gain reduction, the voltage limit gain reduction, and the inputs and outputs.

In addition, MCDSP is also available for Pro Tools 2023All APB plugins for versions 12 and above have released a new low-latency mode. With this update, the APB plug-in can be used at any hardware buffer size with latency as low as less than 5 milliseconds.

Like other APB plugins, BOB is free for all APB registered users. Now you can** bob installer and the latest apb plugin update (v16.1)。

Bob APB Plugin Feature List:

Unique Bass Optimized Bias (BOB) algorithm.

Two-stage analog gain section.

Adjustable analog compression and saturation.

VU-style metering of inputs, outputs, overall gain reduction, and Squash gain reduction. Sampling-accurate analog automated processing.

The Bob APB plugin is expected to be available in March 2024.

Founded in 1998 by Colin McDowell, MCDSP was founded by Colin McDowell after working at DigiDesign (predecessor of ID) and Dolby, and the plug-in is widely used in software and hardware products for popular digital audio workstations, including Pro Tools, Logic, and Cubase, as well as ID Venue live sound systems.
