Watermelon Cultivation Practical Seedling 4 Seedling Cultivation Problems to be Paid Attention t

This is the 21st article of Li Weihua's watermelon garden.

The weather is still warm in the end, the watermelon we sowed last Wednesday has grown very tall, although I looked at the weather forecast, there is a strong wind today, it will cool down, but I still decided to graft.

It's still an old friend, and we invited a few grafting masters from Zhongmu County.

Because it is windy, temperature is the first concern. In the morning, it was a little higher, and the wind was too strong, and the plastic sheet on the shed was blown around, so the felt on the shed was lowered, one was to press the shed film, and the other was to shade the sun, and the seedlings that had just been connected were still very afraid of the sun.

Cover with shade netting.

In the afternoon, the temperature began to drop, so I rolled up the felt on the shed to transmit light and increase the temperature, which was really a meticulous job.

The second problem is the capped seedlings. The substrate we use is less mixed with soil, so there are a lot of capped seedlings. There was no good way, so I had to ask the master to take them off one by one. Seedlings can also be planted in a shallow way, or if the seeds are not placed correctly when planting.

The third question is about pumpkins. What are the criteria for a good pumpkin? That is, the pumpkin must be stout, preferably flattened. Because only in this way can the light be transmitted and the scion grows faster.

The last question is scion. There are many friends who ask how big the scion is. There is no standard answer to this. Like the one above, it's okay, can it be bigger? Yes, too. In fact, the newly unearthed yellow buds can also be connected, and the survival rate is good. These are all experiences, and I hope it will be useful for those who are learning grafting for the first time.
