Is downward freedom really freedom?

The world we live in is like a never-ending merry-go-round, driving us to pursue materialism, achievement, pleasure, and enjoyment. All of this seems to provide us with endless options and opportunities, and we are mistakenly thinking that we have real freedom. However, did we really find freedom in this spin? Or is it just that you are so bewildered by the prosperity in front of you that you have forgotten the true freedom of your heart?

When we indulge in material pursuits, do we often fall into unspeakable anxiety and stress? When we only want to surpass others and compete for higher status and power, do we gradually lose our sincere connection with our family and friends? And when we only focus on the short-term happiness in the moment, do we forget the long-term goals and values in our hearts?

True freedom is not based solely on external achievements and material abundance, but more on inner peace and contentment. True freedom is the ability to hear your inner voice, to be clear about your true desires, and to work towards them. True freedom is when you are no longer swayed by external pressures and expectations when making choices, but truly from within.

True freedom also lies in being able to build deep emotional bonds with others, understand and support each other during the journey of life. It makes you no longer lonely on the road of life, and you feel the warmth and strength from the community.

True freedom also means that you can stay true to your values and goals and not be shaken by the outside world. It fills you with peace and contentment in the pursuit of what you truly love.

So, while downward freedom seems to give us more options, true freedom requires us to seek and experience it with our hearts. So, what about you? Have you also found your own true freedom in this rotating world?
