After the Xinhai Revolution, Wujiang and Zhenze counties were combined into Wujiang County, and the county was divided into six cities and twelve townships, and Shengze was one of the six cities. **In August 18 (1929), the county's eighteen cities and townships were divided into ten districts, and Shengze set up the third district. **In July 26, the Japanese army invaded China, and on November 9, Shengze Town fell. In 29, the Wang puppet regime still set up Shengze as the third district, and in July 31, it was renamed the fourth district. In December 1988, Shengze Town and Shengze Township were merged, and the establishment of Shengze Township was revoked, and the township management village system was implemented. There are 14 townships in rural areas: Yingnan, Hongdou, Hongli, Louxia, Changdian, Taoyuan, Beiwang, Nankun, Chengxi, Maota, Xinan, Daxie, Xibei, Lin'an, etc., with a total of 552 Lu and 2665 neighbors.

At the end of 1934, after the change of the neighborhood to the Baojia system, Shengze District governed 5 towns and 14 townships, with a total of 106 Baojia and 1345 Jia.

In August 1946, the original Shengzhong and Shengxi towns were merged into Shengnan Town, and Shengnan, Shengdong and Shengbei towns were merged into Shengbei Town, and Taoyuan Township Dafengwei was still included in the town. The original 13 townships in the countryside are divided into 8 townships, including Daxie, Chang'an, Xinan, Xita, Hongdou, Louying, Nancheng and Jingyuan.

In October 1947, Shengnan and Shengbei were merged into Shengze Town. The original red beans and Louying were expanded to Hongfu Township, Nancheng and Jingyuan were expanded to Xinhang Township, Chang'an and Xinan were expanded to Zhongjie Township, and Daxie and Xinan were expanded to Xie Sheng Township. Towns and countryside are still Baojia, totaling 102 Bao and 1097 A, of which 24 Bao and 354 Jia are in the township.

In January 1950, Shengze Town was promoted to a county town, with 16 sub-district residents' committees and sub-district residents' groups.

In July 1960, the town set up 6 management areas of factory, garden, Taiping, Li'an, Dangkou and Hongxing, and in July 1962, it was changed to 5 joint offices: Taiping Joint Office, Factory Joint Office, Garden Joint Office, Li'an Joint Office, and Red Star Management Area was changed to Vegetable Brigade.

In 1981, the joint office was abolished and the neighborhood committees were reinstated.

By July 1986, there were 16 neighborhood committees, 6 new village committees and 1 vegetable brigade. [6]

In December 1988, Shengze Town and Shengze Township were merged, and the establishment of Shengze Township was abolished, and the township management village system was implemented, with 32 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.

In July 2000, Tanqiu Town was merged into Shengze Town, and in December 2003, Nanma Town was merged with Shengze Town.

In July 2011, Shengze Town opened a new community structure, and the original 11 communities were redivided into 8. In the later period, from 1979 to 1988, the population of the town increased with the rapid development of the silk industry, and by 1988, the registered population of the town had reached 10,025 households and 28,556 people, and the actual permanent population of the town reached 48,992. In 2013, the registered population of Shengze Town was 1330,000, more than 300,000 immigrants. [8]

Ancestral Shrine. The first silkworm temple is also known as the silkworm flower hall or the silkworm king hall, located at the intersection of Wulong Road in Shengze Town. During the Qing Daoguang period, the Shengze silk industry merchants built a public building, which is a public shrine to worship the ancestor of the silk industry.

Ancestral Shrine. The main hall enshrines the three statues of Xuanyuan, Shennong and the ancestor of the Chinese nation. There are plaques in the hall of "the relics of the first silkworms" and "the clothes are born". [21]

Jinghu Park is located in the north of Shengze, Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, was founded in 1999, officially opened in September 2002, covers an area of 530 acres, of which the water area accounts for two-fifths, the garden pays attention to plant landscaping, the mountains and rivers in the park are beautiful, the trees and grass are lush, there are tea house snacks, children's paradise, shallow water beach, landscape garden, cruise ship dock, horse riding field, song and dance hall, antique wedding photography, small zoo and summer bathing and other attractions. According to the function, the park is divided into two parts: the water-friendly recreation area around the lake and the ecological sightseeing. The former is located in the east and south of the garden, and rows of weeping willows along the lake. There are three islands in the middle of the lake, and the "Mirror Lake Hall" built close to the water is located among the three islands. [22]

Shengze Zhongzi Temple.

Shengze Zhongzi Temple is located in Xiaokouwei, Shengze Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou City, the temple is also known as the Yuci Zhongzi Temple, also known as the Yuci Hanoi Gong Temple, was built in the first year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, and was given by Zhao Gou of Gaozong of the Song Dynasty. Zhongzi, that is, the sage Zhongzi. The sage Zhongzi, the surname Zhong, the name by, the word Zi Road. Confucius Da**. Tang Xuanzong Kaiyuan 27 years posthumously named Wei Hou, Song Zhenzong Dazhong Xiangfu two years to seal Hanoi Gong, Southern Song Dynasty Duzong Xianchun two years into the Wei Guo Gong, Ming Shizong Jiajing nine years posthumously called the sage Zhongzi, Qing Shizong Yongzheng 11 years on the title of Wei Sheng.

The temple is the only ancestral temple in the history of the Zhong family, and it is the Zhongzi temple with the largest area and the highest sacrifice specifications in the middle temple in the country. Mulanzhou. Mulanzhou.

Mulanzhou was built in the 14th year of Yuan to Yuan (1277), and the name is Guchi Nunnery. Yuan to Zhengma (1341-1368) changed its name to Yuanzhaoan, because there is water on all sides, the waves are overflowing, so it is also called Lanzhou. ** When it is changed to a park, there is a "Yuanzhao Hall" in the east of the park, commonly known as the four-sided hall, the plane is square, the corridor is circumferential, and the corridor on each side is 9 long. 12 meters; At the southernmost end, there is a waterfront causeway, which is planted with wisteria. There is still a stone tablet in the first year of Ming Zhengde (1506) "Yuanzhao Anji" in the park. It covers an area of 7300 square meters. [23]

Tanqiu White Dragon Bridge.

Bailongqiao is located in Bailongqiao Village, Tanqiu, Shengze Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou City, with clam piers in the east and small cows in the west, and the river surface is open. It was built in the early years of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the 34th year of Guangxu (1908) and completed in the third year of Xuantong (1911). North-south trending, three-hole arch structure. The arch is laid in parallel with the longitudinal sectional method, and is all constructed with granite, which is anti-wave and anti-collapse, and there are berths at both ends. Width 380 meters, length 4060 meters, the height of the middle hole is 560 meters, span 990 meters. The two holes are smaller than the middle holes, so that the bridge shape is varied, like the order of geese in the sky. The top stone of the bridge and the arch coupon Longmen stone are respectively engraved with auspicious patterns such as "pen ingot Ruyi", "bottle sheng three halberds" and "cloud dragon" and "Taiji". There are four couplets engraved on the bridge, one of which is: "The wind sends the sound of ten thousand machines, and it is easy for Mo Dao to be successful; The sun is turning over a thousand feet of waves, so that you can drink water and think more about the source. It vividly depicts the prosperity of Shengze's textile industry, and the wealth of the water town can be seen.

On July 1, 1986, Bailong Bridge was listed as the second batch of Wujiang City Cultural Relics Protection Units by the city. In September 2012, due to the change of Wujiang administrative division, it was adjusted to be a cultural relics protection unit of Suzhou City. [24]

Cloud slice cake. Also known as ice flake cake, there are all over the county, but the knife for cutting the cake is made from Shengze Xujiawan. Legend has it that the wrought iron is made of the water in front of the bay, the blade is sharp, and the cake slices are evenly cut without silk.

Maltose (i.e. caramel).

After the sugar is fried and clutched, the color is white, and it can be eaten in the shape of a cake.

Spiced white sugar.

The skin is made of maltose, and the stuffing is filled with mashed sesame seeds, peanuts and sugar, and it is made into various shapes, and the food is sweet and delicious.

Red meat. It is made of fresh pork stewed in red yeast rock sugar wine, and the taste is extremely delicious, but it is only available in winter. This meat is now rare and almost lost. There is also a red hoof, which is prepared in the same way as red meat.
