In ancient China's feudal dynasty society, "wives and concubines are different", and as concubines, their status in the palace is naturally very low. However, during the Qing Dynasty, there was such an "interesting incident", as the husband of an important minister in the court, he actually wanted to kneel to his concubine. At his request, Yin Tai, then a scholar of the Dongge University and a scholar of the military department, was "forced" to kneel to his concubine Xu. Of course, Yongzheng did not do this to deliberately "trick" Yin Tai, nor did he do it because of how the Xu family had made earth-shattering achievements, and the reason why he wanted to do this was for Yin Tai and the son of the Xu family, Yin Jishan.

Yin Jishan is a well-deserved favorite of Yongzheng. Many people know that Yin Jishan is in "Yongzheng Dynasty", although he is a flower in the imperial examination, his presence in the play is obviously not as good as that of Wang Wenzhao, who was the champion of high school and then spoke out for Yongzheng in the court, and Liu Molin, who was handpicked by Yongzheng as a flower and entrusted with reuse, and finally sacrificed to protect the glory of Hongli. However, in addition to Zhang Tingyu, Li Wei, Tian Wenjing, Ortai and others, Yin Jishan in history is another favorite minister whom Yongzheng trusts and respects very much.

In the first year of Yongzheng (1723), the first imperial examination of the Yongzheng Dynasty, Yin Jishan was admitted to the Jinshi. In the process of meeting Yongzheng, the personable and talented Yin Jishan left a deep impression on Yongzheng, and after learning that Yin Jishan was Yin Tai, the son of an important minister who had dealings with Yongzheng as early as the Kangxi Dynasty, he praised Yin Jishan. "You are Yin Taeziye? Fruit too! In this way, Yin Jishan opened his almost "open" promotion road. In the first year of Yongzheng (1723), Yin Jishan was ordered to speak about living and paying attention to officials; In the fifth year of Yongzheng (1727), he was promoted to Tobe Langzhong; In the sixth year of Yongzheng (1728), he served as the governor of Jiangsu; In the seventh year of Yongzheng (1729), he was promoted to the governor of the river; In the ninth year of Yongzheng (1731), he officially took office as the governor of Liangjiang, this year, Yin Jishan was not yet 35 years old, but he had already become a feudal official at the level of local governors. Yin Jishan, who "started from scratch" during the Yongzheng Dynasty, was promoted at a speed comparable to Li Wei, Tian Wenjing and others, which shows the trust and importance of Emperor Yongzheng.

At the same time, Yin Jishan's soaring prosperity also gave his father a "second spring" in officialdom. As mentioned above, Yongzheng and Yin Tai are "old acquaintances", and the intersection between the two was established in the sixtieth year of Kangxi (1721). At that time, Yongzheng, who was ordered by Emperor Kangxi to worship the "Three Tombs outside the Guan", was in Yin Tai's house because of the heavy rain, and was warmly entertained, and Yin Tai also left a good impression on Yongzheng during the conversation with Yongzheng. So, in the sixty-first year of Kangxi (1722), Emperor Kangxi died, Emperor Yongzheng ascended the throne, and Yin Tai, who had been at home for nearly ten years, was reactivated by Emperor Yongzheng and recruited as a cabinet scholar. And with Yin Jishan constantly being reused by Yongzheng, in the seventh year of Yongzheng (1729), Yin Tai also became a scholar of Dongge University and a scholar of the military department. For this, Yongzheng made no secret of his love for Yin Jishan. "It is difficult to criticize the pen of Jiayue, and your father has accumulated how much virtue gives birth to such a son of you! I am really glad for your father, reluctantly! It can be seen that Yin Jishan's excellent performance also made his father "stain a lot of light".

However, Yin Tai, who had already been ranked as a cabinet minister and became a member of the court, asked Yongzheng to issue an order in the tenth year of Yongzheng (1732) and ordered him to kneel and worship his concubine Xu, why is this?

Let Yin Tai kneel and worship the concubine, Yongzheng is only for Yin Jishan. Yin Jishan, born to the Xu family, is the one with the highest achievement and status among all Yin Tai's sons, but the Xu family is Yin Tai's concubine after all, and Yin Tai, who attaches great importance to etiquette, always adheres to the principle of "wives and concubines are different". As a result, although his son has become a feudal official like the Governor of Liangjiang, the Xu family still has to do some rough and heavy work in Yin Tai's mansion, and he has been despised by Yin Tai, and his status is like a maid. Later, these things were known to Yongzheng, and even Yongzheng was indignant about what happened to the Xu family. So in the tenth year of Yongzheng (1732), when Yongzheng met Yin Jishan, who was about to be transferred to the governor of Yunnan and Guizhou, Yongzheng was ready to canonize the Xu family. "Thou, too. The mother-in-law is sealed, and the biological mother is not sealed. I have a purpose. ”

Yin Tai, who returned home, was furious when he learned of this, in his opinion, "the difference between wives and concubines" is an inviolable etiquette and a matter of course, but now, Yin Jishan is not only "the ugliness of the family", but also directly alarmed Emperor Yongzheng, making him more and more angry. "Thou wilt be born of Venerable, and thou hast not enlightened me, but thou hast pressed the Lord against him? So, Yin Tai picked up his cane and scolded Yin Jishan, "shot down his peacock feather", until Xu knelt down and admitted his mistake and calmed down the situation. This matter was soon known to Yongzheng, so the next day, Yongzheng's will came to Yin Tai's mansion. At first, Yin Tai was reluctant to let Xu come out, but under the repeated requests of the cabinet scholar who was responsible for reading the holy decree, Yin Tai very reluctantly called Xu to receive the decree. What Yin Tai didn't expect was that the reason why the Xu family was coming out was to target Yin Tai and the Xu family. "The university scholar Yin Tai is not a virtuous son of Jishan, he is not allowed to enter the phase, and he is not a side room Xu, why is Jishan born? He named Xu as Mrs. Yipin, and Yin Tai first thanked Mrs. Xie, and then saluted as an edict. ”

Yongzheng's meaning is very clear, you Yin Tai can become a scholar of Dongge University, it is completely "stained" with the "light" of his son Yin Jishan, and Yin Jishan was born to the Xu family, if there is no Xu family to give birth to such a good son for you Yin Tai, how can you have such a high position. Whether Yin Tai wants it or not, since Yongzheng has made an order, Yin Tai must carry it out. In this way, Xu sat in the south, and Yin Tai knelt down to worship Xu under the observation of everyone, and then Yin Tai and Xu "re-performed the ceremony of marriage between husband and wife", and this "turmoil" was settled.

In fact, such things were not uncommon during the reign of Yongzheng. When Nian Qianyao was the most favored, Yongzheng once ordered someone to expedite the lychees in the Lingnan area with 600 miles to Nian Qianyao in the northwest to taste; In the "Battle of Tian and Li", Yongzheng firmly stood on Tian Wenjing's side, pushed Li Fu to the end, and also persuaded Tian Wenjing to be "not stingy"; And when the ministers of the DPRK and China were wantonly on Li Wei's behavior of working on West Lake, Yongzheng directly chose to turn a blind eye and continue to trust and reuse Li Wei. As Yongzheng wrote in one of his Zhu criticisms: "I am such a man, such a temperament, and such an emperor." If you and other ministers do not live up to me, I will not live up to you again, and I will reluctantly do so. "As long as you are loyal to Yongzheng and are willing to do your best for Yongzheng, then Yongzheng will give double the reward and reward.

Back to the matter of asking Yin Tai to kneel for the concubine Xu, Yongzheng's starting point is the same, the purpose is for Yin Jishan. On the one hand, Yongzheng showed his concern and love for Yin Jishan in this way, so as to make him more desperate to work for himself. On the other hand, Yongzheng is also in this way to help Yin Jishan understand a knot, so that he can be more at ease and rest assured to go to the governor of Yunnan and Guizhou, so that he can work without worries and make better political achievements. It can be seen that the fundamental purpose of Yongzheng's move is to appease people's hearts and win over the first to maintain the stability of his imperial rule.
