Once the United States declines, who will be the next superpower besides China?

For a long time, the status of the United States as the world's superpower seems to be unshakable, but with the turbulence of the global geopolitical situation, the world has ushered in major changes unseen in a century, the national strength of the United States has begun to decline, the troika of "economy, science and technology, and military" has begun to go backwards, and many emerging countries are rising at an impressive speed.

Against this backdrop, once the United States falls from the altar of hegemony, who will become the next superpower except China, a power that is bound to become a superpower?

Zhang Zhaozhong, an expert on my affairs, once gave that there are two promising successes, namely: Russia and India.

Let's start with Russia. As the largest country in the world by land area, Russia has a rich land area and scarce resources. The reserves of natural gas, oil and coal are among the highest in the world. Oil and gas, in particular, continue to generate revenue from Russia's energy sources at a time when the world is in short supply and there is no alternative energy source for a short period of time. This is also where Russia's capital can persist in confronting the West in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

In addition to the superiority of natural resources, Russia's military power is also among the top three in the world, although the naval power is stretched, but it has a crushing military advantage in the fields of strategic nuclear strike, nuclear submarines, and hypersonic missiles. In addition, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has allowed the Russians to accelerate the modernization and reform of the army, and the development of the military industry has brought Russia's future military strength to a higher level.

It is worth mentioning that if Russia wants to become a superpower, resources and military power are indispensable, but it also needs to strengthen construction in other areas, such as Russia's economic backwardness, domestic industrial structure concerns, backwardness in high-tech fields, etc., these are Russia's own shortcomings.

But compared to other countries, Russia is recognized as the most promising superpower after China.

This is followed by India. Although India is very strange in many cases, the speed of development should not be underestimated. Following China's example and taking the route of demographic dividend, India has become one of the main drivers of global economic growth, relying on its huge young labor market and gradually optimized policy environment.

In terms of global GDP, India has surpassed the United Kingdom, one of the P5, to become fifth, second only to Japan; In terms of purchasing power parity, India ranks third in the world. Such a rapid rise is due to the development of India's manufacturing, service and information technology industries.

In the field of technology, India's Bangalore-centric software and information technology service industry, known as the "Silicon Valley of India", is the world's largest IT outsourcing and software development hub. High technology is one of the driving forces of national development, which will not only feed back into the construction of various fields in the country, but also attract a large number of foreign investment and drive economic growth.

In the military field, although India is nicknamed the "universal brand", it lacks a complete military industrial system, resulting in India can only rely on spending money to buy and buy from other countries. However, as a nuclear-armed country and its own important strategic position, India has obtained a lot of high-precision equipment from the United States, Russia, France, Israel and other countries, and its overall military strength has surpassed the two permanent members of Britain and France, climbing to the fourth place in the world.

At present, the military contradictions in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region have nothing to do with India, and if India can take advantage of external disputes to carry out development with peace of mind, complete breakthroughs in the military-industrial system and aircraft carriers, and become a superpower, it will have more hope than other countries.
