Inherit culture, keep integrity and innovation

Learn from high school as a teacher, and be a model. Chang Jun has never stopped exploring Chinese language and literature in the Department of Chinese and later devoting himself to the field of international Chinese education. With a background in folk culture, she is deeply involved in the field of international Chinese education and is rooted in teaching practice: "On the one hand, I am teaching language, and on the other hand, I am always thinking about how to better teach Chinese cultural knowledge to international students. I hope to combine folklore and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and try to achieve the integration of language and cultural teaching in interdisciplinary research."

Chang Jun participated in the International Symposium on Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.

In his teaching career, Chang Jun has actively explored the practice path of international Chinese education, and is committed to "letting the beauty of Chinese bloom on the world stage". Academic research and teaching work are mutually reinforcing. Chang Jun believes that "teaching and scientific research should be equally emphasized, and problems should be found in teaching practice and theory should be improved", and the two need to promote and complement each other. She teaches Chinese students to communicate Chinese Chinese culture under the collision of interdisciplinary research, and also guides international students to understand Chinese culture from an international perspective and tell Chinese stories well.

Outside the classroom, Chang Jun pays attention to cultivating students' cross-cultural communication skills and international communication awareness, and actively organizes international students to "read thousands of books and travel thousands of miles" and participate in cultural practice activities. She led international students to participate in the 6th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Language Competition for International Students in China, and the graduate students she supervised won the second prize and the excellent teaching plan award in the National Teaching Skills Competition for Graduate Students in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, the first prize in the individual competition of the 4th National Graduate Chinese Teaching Micro-course Competition-Chinese Students Group (Cultural Category), the second prize in the individual competition-International Students Group in China, and the third prize in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group of Shanghai University. She and her teaching team actively carry out cultural experience activities, organizing activities such as Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake DIY, museum visits, festival surveys and other activities for international students, guiding students to experience and understand China's national conditions, Chinese culture and Chinese wisdom in practice.

Chang Jun instructed students to participate in the 4th National Postgraduate Chinese Teaching Micro-course Competition.

Chinese bridges connect the world

During the interview, Mr. Chang Jun mentioned more than once that he loves the cause of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. In her heart, love is all the reason and the answer: because of love, so full of enthusiasm to devote herself to it; Because of love, I am willing to encounter difficulties. She said that when she is abroad, she will always be very happy to communicate with students, invite students to eat at home during the Spring Festival, invite them to taste Chinese food, although she is not good at paper-cutting, but will try to find some auspicious patterns to learn to cut and carve, and decorate the room with students.

Seeing that the students understand the Chinese New Year and other festival culture, and go from not knowing Chinese at all, to slowly being able to talk freely, and then completing their undergraduate graduation** and master's graduation**, I feel very proud and fulfilled as a teacher." So far, Ms. Chang has supervised master's students in Ireland, Turkey, Vietnam, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Mauritania, Kazakhstan, South Korea and other countries.

Spring breeze and rain are also teachers and friends

Education is the resonance of love, the echo of heart and heart. For students, Chang Jun has always paid attention to the learning life and emotional changes of each student, and accompanied them to grow.

I tend to discuss and talk freely with my students like friends. "Teacher Chang and the students have accumulated a deep relationship through getting along and communicating. In the process of students' growth, students are carefully guided, and students are guided to find research interests in exchanges and discussions. Through repeated discussions, we find out the direction that students are interested in, provide them with relevant knowledge, awaken their own knowledge reserves, and ignite their enthusiasm for self-participation. This gives students more freedom of choice and room to grow. "We should have a broad academic vision, not stick to the boundaries of disciplines, and comprehensively study problems in real life practice across disciplines; Understand your true interests, study diligently, accumulate steadily, and learn in your interests will be very happy and fulfilling. The simple words carry Mr. Chang Jun's sincere expectations and best wishes to the students.

Chang Jun said that he was willing and happy to be friends with the students, listen carefully and witness together. She will have targeted heart-to-heart conversations with students, and always patiently persuade and encourage students who encounter setbacks. "Each of us will face difficulties and setbacks, and when we feel that it is difficult, we may be pushed and we can have the courage to take a step forward. "Students also like to consult Chang Jun on professional issues, talk about life setbacks, and share the joy of success. In the eyes of students, Chang Jun is also a teacher and friend, and her words and deeds are also deeply infected by her students.

Chang Jun participated in the graduate graduation defense.

During the interview, Mr. Chang shared a small story with the reporter: when she was visiting the University of Tokyo in Japan, she met several Japanese students who had graduated for many years and an American student who worked in Japan. Chang Jun recognized that it was a graduation commemorative book that he made for everyone back then, "I think that thin booklet may be a little simple, with some life of students during their study at Shanghai University**, as well as some daily scenes such as competitions and recitations." What I didn't expect was that this American student had traveled to the United States, Germany, Japan and other places for many years, and he had always carried the commemorative book with him. Another Japanese student who worked for a Chinese airline after graduation also flipped through an article on his mobile phone for Chang Jun to read: "Teacher, this is the draft of my speech as a representative of the graduating students, and you helped me revise it." Chang Jun was deeply moved by the sincerity and touching words of the students, "I think this is the happiest moment for us as teachers." ”

Chang Jun attended a seminar on Chinese language teaching in the United States.

The greatest joy as a teacher is to see the growth and progress of our students. With a love, a sense of responsibility and mission to focus on teaching, Chang Jun has been a teacher for 30 years, and this heartfelt recognition and enjoyment may be the best interpretation of "teaching and educating people". Chang Jun not only said this, but also practiced step by step, to be a real teacher, to establish morality, and to persevere!
