China has invested more than 10 billion yuan in aid to the impoverished country of Albania, but after China has stopped aiding, Albania has taken targeted actions. Albania, a small and impoverished country, has risen to prominence in a short period of time and has stepped into the ranks of developed countries.

Looking back to the middle of the last century, China and Albania were the best "iron buddies", as long as China had it at that time, Albania was also indispensable. The entire Albanian society, both high-level and ordinary people, rely on China's assistance almost all the time to maintain their survival and development.

At that time, China was still in a critical stage of development, and many materials were saved by us through gritted teeth and selflessly gifted to our brother countries. Our great leader, Grandpa Mao, once said bluntly at a meeting: The assistance we give to Albania is like handing Albania to its right hand, which vividly shows that our country regards Albania as a sincere and good friend.

However, the attitude of the Albanian side chills us, not only do they not have any gratitude, but they feel that all this is justified, and then they frequently make unreasonable requests for assistance to China, which is like a hungry wolf, constantly devouring and oppressing.

According to rough estimates, in the 15 years since the beginning of the formal association in 1954, our country has provided Albania with up to 15$500 million interest-free loan. However, in the face of these selfless assistance from China, the Albanian side responded like this: "We have never considered repaying this huge loan, because how can the younger brother repay the elder brother? ”

Thanks to the hard work of Chinese workers, Albania has seen the rise of numerous military bases and industrial facilities, which have become the backbone of Albania's security and economic development. Thanks to China's selfless assistance, Albania's economic level and quality of life have successfully ranked among the developed countries.

However, China's generous assistance has not been reciprocated by Albania, but has been reciprocated by the other side. Albania has often interfered in China's internal affairs, and has even installed eavesdropping devices in the Chinese embassy in Afghanistan to conduct confidential surveillance of Albanian staff.

In 1972, when China was seeking a breakthrough in its foreign policy and aimed to get out of its international predicament, just as Sino-US diplomatic relations were finally thawed, Albanian leader Hoxha expressed dissatisfaction with this trend, and even accused China of betrayal, and raised strong questions about China on this issue, obviously lacking due respect and understanding for donors.

Materially dependent on China, but spiritually frequently interfering in China's internal affairs, Albania has evolved into a "blood-sucking parasite". While criticizing China, the Arab side has also demanded that China give it an additional 5 billion yuan in aid, and this attempt to extort money has undoubtedly exacerbated tensions between the two sides.

In this regard, China still has good intentions and donated an additional 1 billion aid funds, but Albania, which is greedy and endless, failed to receive the expected 5 billion in aid, and turned to the international community to attack and slander China, and even secretly seek money**.

In the 24 years from 1954 to 1978, we provided Albania with a total of 10 billion yuan in economic aid.

However, after the formal severance of relations with China, Albania's domestic economic situation deteriorated rapidly, to the point of massive domestic unrest, which was not quelled until NATO military intervention was subsided.

When they learned that we had cancelled all aid and decided not to provide any more support to Albania, Hoxha was furious, wantonly insulted China on the international stage, and even tried to incite our side to contradict conflicts with other countries.

Albania's economy, after the withdrawal of our investment, has shifted its way of life from relying on aid to self-reliance, and despite the efforts made, it has not been able to save the country's economic fortunes. Most countries in the world have a negative attitude towards Hoxha and choose to distance themselves from him, which undoubtedly makes Albania fall into an isolated situation.
