According to rough estimates, in the 15 years since the beginning of the formal association in 1954, our country has provided Albania with up to 15$500 million interest-free loan. However, in the face of these selfless assistance from China, the Albanian side responded like this: "We have never considered repaying this huge loan, because how can the younger brother repay the elder brother? ”
Thanks to the hard work of Chinese workers, Albania has seen the rise of numerous military bases and industrial facilities, which have become the backbone of Albania's security and economic development. Thanks to China's selfless assistance, Albania's economic level and quality of life have successfully ranked among the developed countries.
However, China's generous assistance has not been reciprocated by Albania, but has been reciprocated by the other side. Albania has often interfered in China's internal affairs, and has even installed eavesdropping devices in the Chinese embassy in Afghanistan to conduct confidential surveillance of Albanian staff.

However, after the formal severance of relations with China, Albania's domestic economic situation deteriorated rapidly, to the point of massive domestic unrest, which was not quelled until NATO military intervention was subsided.
When they learned that we had cancelled all aid and decided not to provide any more support to Albania, Hoxha was furious, wantonly insulted China on the international stage, and even tried to incite our side to contradict conflicts with other countries.
Albania's economy, after the withdrawal of our investment, has shifted its way of life from relying on aid to self-reliance, and despite the efforts made, it has not been able to save the country's economic fortunes.
