While there is a push to boost consumption everywhere, in some ways, it has been moving in the opposite direction. Fishing enthusiasts may be deeply touched by this.
The ban on fishing seems to have become the norm in some places, and fishing enthusiasts can only sigh at the water. In the current economic environment, recreational fishing, as a popular outdoor activity, is facing unprecedented challenges.
This challenge comes from the uncertainty of various "regulations".
In recent years, anglers have found themselves increasingly limited in their space to move around, with an ever-increasing number of no-fishing areas and regulations that have left anglers dizzying.
Fishing was originally a long-standing recreational sport, but the reality is that many fishing enthusiasts always feel as if they are fishing secretly, and this emotion is increasingly high on social **, reflecting the problems faced by the fishing circle.
In some areas, large amounts of public waters are privately contracted and fishing is prohibited. Although some are pressured to open the fishing area, they continue to make all kinds of small actions in private to disturb the anglers.
For example, some time ago, the fishing area of Susong Lake has been divided, and some anglers have recently reported that some people are laying nets around the fishing area to try to prevent fish from approaching the shore.
Problems such as these are common everywhere and have been getting worse in recent years. This is not a good sign.
In many places, they are shouting vigorously to boost consumption, but their physical actions are weak. The stimulation of recreational fishing on consumption is obvious to all, but it is not in the eyes of some people.
In China, recreational fishing is not only an activity, but also gradually become an important economic industry, from the upstream raw material manufacturing, to the midstream fishing gear, bait, fishing clothing and equipment manufacturing and sales, to the downstream fishing park and other practitioners, forming a complete industrial chain.
According to reports, the annual output value of this industrial chain has exceeded 100 billion yuan.
Taking young people as an example, the consumption power in fishing is still very strong, especially some young people born after 95, and the annual expenditure on fishing can even reach thousands of yuan, making fishing equipment one of the hot spots of online sports consumption.
This trend has not only promoted the hot sales of fishing products, but also promoted the development of employment and upstream and downstream industrial chains.
However, this good development trend has been stifled in the past two years.
To give a few examples: from March to July every year, all natural waters in Sichuan are closed to fishing; Anhui Wuhu Yangtze River waters banned fishing for ten years; Fishing is prohibited in the Yangtze River in Nanjing, Jiangsu; In Yueyang, Hunan, most of the Yangtze River within the urban area has been zoned into a no-fishing area.
In Jiangxi, a huge fine was also issued to anglers who violated the regulations, with a maximum fine of 50,000!
These measures and regulations have left many practitioners in the fishing industry feeling incomprehensible and even hopeless for the future.
This is not the outcome that everyone wants to see. Here, I call on some places that talk about fishing at every turn to re-examine this activity and develop a more reasonable system to ensure the sustainable development of fishing activities, and at the same time bring stable development prospects for the fishing gear industry.
Under the pressure of the economic downturn, many people's willingness to fish is already decreasing, and if the restrictions are not lifted, or even intensified, more and more anglers will quit the sport.
It seems that all localities should no longer be so capricious towards recreational anglers.
If you really want to boost consumption, don't just talk about it, but take action in all aspects. In terms of recreational fishing, we hope that every place can create a better space for anglers to move.
Otherwise, recreational fishing is in jeopardy.
