On March 2, the 2024 Lingnan Minimally Invasive Interventional Medicine Forum and the Inaugural Meeting of the Respiratory Intervention Professional Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Association of Primary Medicine, sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Association of Primary Medicine, the Guangdong Pharmaceutical Association and the Guangdong Provincial Medical Association, and jointly organized by the Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences, the Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital and the Dianbai District People's Hospital, were held in Dianbai District, Maoming City. On the same day, experts and celebrities from the field of respiratory and interventional in China jointly helped the high-quality development of health care based on clinical practice, academic hotspots and future directions.
Respiratory diseases are common, frequent and major diseases in China, and their morbidity and mortality have long ranked among the top diseases of urban and rural residents, and the economic and social burden of diseases is huge. In response to the requirements of the national medical reform, the Guangdong Provincial Association of Primary Medicine established a professional committee for respiratory interventional diagnosis and treatment, aiming to promote respiratory interventional diagnosis and treatment technology, further improve the diagnosis and treatment level of respiratory diseases in primary medical institutions, promote the rational allocation of medical resources, and let more grassroots patients enjoy high-quality medical services.
Since August last year, Dianbai District People's Hospital has invited two professors, Li Jing and Xu Rongde from Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, to provide counterpart assistance, bringing new concepts and technologies in respiratory and intervention, and leading the hospital to take the lead in carrying out respiratory intervention in the region. The Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine is the dominant discipline of Dianbai District People's Hospital and one of the key disciplines in Maoming City. In the academic session of the 2024 Lingnan Minimally Invasive Interventional Medicine Forum, Professor Wang Guangfa of Peking University First Hospital, Li Wenfeng, President of Dianbai District People's Hospital, and Professor Li Jing of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital gave academic answers, research questions and problems on respiratory intervention.
