Switzerland, a country renowned for its precision mechanics and watchmaking, also has a unique insight and passion for the culture of modification and customization. When it comes to motorcycle tuning, VTR Custom is undoubtedly one of the best in the industry, with its craftsmanship and unique design concepts that have captivated many motorcycle enthusiasts.
Recently, the company VTR Custom once again surprised the four-seater, converting the new R 1300 GS into a sports crossover. The prototype of this car was supposed to be the M version of the new generation GS, but for some reason BMW did not include it in the upcoming plans. However, this did not stop VTR Custom, who took on the project with all their passion and creativity.
The modified R 1300 GS has a new look and a strong sporty look. VTR Custom has cleverly reduced the size of the tires and hubs of the motorcycle, a change that not only makes the car look lighter and more agile, but also reduces weight and improves handling. The original body frame has been carefully removed in favor of a more minimalist and sturdy structure that retains the original charm of the motorcycle while infusing it with modern and stylish elements.
The modification of the seats is also a highlight. The spacious and comfortable seats have been replaced with a more textured Alcantara material, which is not only delicate to the touch, but also provides good breathability and friction for a more comfortable and stable ride for the rider. The chassis, suspension and braking systems remain intact, ensuring the stability and safety of the vehicle.
The modification of the wheels should not be overlooked. VTR Custom replaced the wheels with cast aluminium wheels and painted the wheels grey-black. This change not only improves the visual appearance of the vehicle, but also further reduces weight. The three colors of the M series are embellished in between, forming a beautiful landscape. In terms of tyres, the Metzeler M9RR road tyres were chosen, which excelled in terms of grip and wear resistance, providing the rider with a more reliable ride.
In terms of powertrain, the 1,300 cc opposed twin engine remains unchanged. With 145 hp and 149 Nm of torque, the engine delivers plenty of power to the bike. The rear exhaust has been replaced with the Atrapovic brand, which not only improves exhaust efficiency, but also brings a more pleasant sound effect.
To sum up, of course, such a superb modification is naturally expensive. VTR Custom estimates that the cost of the retrofit is up to 15,500 euros. However, it is undoubtedly a worthwhile investment for motorcycle enthusiasts who are looking for individuality and uniqueness. After all, there's nothing more exciting in this world than owning a one-of-a-kind custom motorcycle.
