Former NBA player Jeff Teague recently spoke about his thoughts on Harden on a podcast.
"I think Harden is the third-best shooting guard in history," Teague said. I've seen him play, I've played against him, and that's a real feeling. When Harden was in the Rockets, he single-handedly entered the Western Conference almost every year, and averaged 35+8+8 per game, which is incredible. Harden was unstoppable at the time, and I respected Wade, but before James arrived, Wade's Heat was playing hard with our Hawks. Everything changed when James came. ”
James Harden may not be what he used to be, but the 10-time All-Star is the MVP of the Rockets who made history by leading the Rockets to the Western Conference Finals year after year. In his best period, he averaged 361 point, 75 assists and 66 rebounds on 44% shooting.
While he never won a championship with the Rockets, he came close to winning a championship several times before being defeated by Stephen Curry's Warriors. Eventually, Harden left the team, and his game hasn't been the same since.
Even so, James' skill as a scorer and playmaker was enough to play alongside the best players in the world, and his game seemed to impress many of those present. As for Dwyane Wade, most fans will still get Wade in the top three, but that could start to change, depending on how Harden ends his career.
