On August 25, 1937, it was reorganized from the original Red First Army, the Red 15th Army and the Red 74th Division in the area of Sanyuan and Jingyang in Shaanxi. After September, the main force successively advanced to the northeast, southeast and southwest of Shanxi, creating an anti-Japanese base area.
