The three types of legal qualifications and their differences!
There are three types of legal professional qualifications in China: A, B, and C.
Today, I want to tell you the difference between these three certificates.
1) Different meanings:
Category A: For candidates who have a bachelor's degree or above and have at least met the minimum passing score published in the current year.
Category B: For candidates from regions with lower academic requirements, whose entry qualification is a specialist degree in law, and whose examination results meet the normal passing score published in the current year.
Category C: For candidates from regions with lower academic requirements, with an entry qualification of a law degree or bachelor's degree, and a minimum score from a region with lower requirements.
Specifically. A-level certificate: This is the highest level of legal professional qualification and stands for Advanced Legal Professional Qualification. Holders of A-level certificates can hold high-level legal positions such as lawyers, judges, prosecutors, notaries, etc. The A-level certificate can be practiced nationally, regardless of region, and is the most prestigious of the three certificates.
B Level Certificate: This is an intermediate certificate and stands for Intermediate Professional Legal Qualification. B-level certificate holders can perform intermediate legal functions such as legal counsel, legal manager, legal supervisor, etc. A B-level certificate has the same exam score as an A-level certificate, but can only practise at the place of residence.
Certificate C: This is the lowest level of legal professional qualification and stands for Junior Legal Professional Qualification. Holders of the C certificate can practice junior legal work such as paralegals, legal clerks, legal translators, etc. The scope of practice for the C-level certificate is limited to the local area and the score is relatively low.
2) The scope of application is different:
A-level certificate: national level.
Class B and C certificates: They can usually only be used where they are obtained. However, B certificate holders can be valid nationally once certain conditions are met, such as renewing their qualifications.
3.Different academic certificates are required:
A Certificate: Candidates must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program and pass the national line.
Certificate B: Pursue a law degree and pass the national line.
c Certificate: In the field of nursing, enrolled in the Bachelor of Laws or Specialist Diploma and passed the Nursing Field Line.
4) Language of LSAT:
Candidates can choose to take the test in Chinese or Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur, Kazakh, Korean, and other minority languages.
5.LSAT Pass Rate:
The LSAT pass rate from 2018 to 2023 is about 35-40%.
In addition, License A is the most prestigious because it allows the holder to practice law nationwide and is often a prerequisite for applying for a senior legal position; Whereas, licenses B and C are comparatively less prestigious, especially license C because it restricts the scope of practice to the local area and is often used to apply for entry-level legal positions.
