On March 3, the Lakers played against the Nuggets, and James completed the layup in the second quarter by breaking through Porter Jr. and scored his 40,000th point. And so one of the greatest milestones in NBA history was born, when a player in history finally scored more than 40,000 points in the regular season! Combined with James' base stats of more than 11,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists, James has accomplished another of the greatest milestones in NBA history: the 411 feat.
Win or lose this game, James will go down in history as he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the all-time leading scorer last year. Although James doesn't regard becoming the all-time scoring leader or Mr. 40,000 points as his most important goal in playing, he will not deliberately brush up on the stats to accomplish this feat. But as the saying goes, you want to be low-key, but strength doesn't allow it. Even if James doesn't brush the data, he is still pushed by history to complete 40,000 miracles and 411 feats because of the situation and personal strength.
Facing the defending champion Nuggets, completing the 40,000th point with a breakthrough layup can be said to perfectly reflect the characteristics of James as a player, that is, he is good at playing high-end games. Therefore, James may have deliberately maintained his health in the face of the Wizards and played less energetically. For James, playing the Nuggets is obviously more fun. Now that James has become the only 40,000-point man in NBA history, he will continue to score and may achieve one of the other greatest feats of 45,000 points in the regular season and 10,000 points in the playoffs before retiring.
