The reporter learned from the State Grid that yesterday (4th), China's first electric vehicle smart charging and swapping demonstration area was built in Jiangsu. Through the upgrading and transformation of the software and hardware of the charging infrastructure, the demonstration area realizes the efficient interaction between new energy vehicles, charging and swapping stations, and urban power grids, and improves the efficiency of charging piles.

This demonstration area covers Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou in Jiangsu, and will build 21 charging and swapping stations and nearly 300 charging piles. Relying on the intelligent algorithm, the system comprehensively studies and judges the actual status of the charging space, charging**, queuing waiting time and other information, and pushes the optimal charging scheme to the car owner. New energy vehicle owners only need to enter the destination, vehicle mileage, battery capacity and other information on the mobile phone APP, and they can know when and charging in the most economical and time-saving way. It is estimated that the average monthly charging queuing time of car owners in the demonstration area can be reduced by nearly 50%.

Ruan Wenjun, Director of the Marketing Department of the State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Marketing Department:The traditional charging mode is that the owner has the charging demand to actively search for the charging pile, and the intelligent guidance function we developed can actively push the optimal charging scheme to the owner according to the owner's car habits, the queuing of the charging station, the charging service ** discount, etc., without the need for the owner to conduct a secondary screening of the charging route, saving charging time and cost.

By the end of 2023, the number of new energy vehicles in China will exceed 20 million, and the number of newly registered new energy vehicles in 2023 will increase by 38% year-on-year76%, based on this growth rate, it is expected to be nearly 35 million units by the end of 2025. The completion of the demonstration area will provide a more intelligent, efficient and convenient charging and swapping experience for new energy vehicle owners.
